It could simply be down to him wanting to stay at St Etienne for another year whereas we are convincing him to come to the club now. He may feel that staying put is best for his development, can't begrudge him that.

However, he'd be much wiser to choose other clubs than them right now. Many highly rated prospects have gone to clubs who have internal problems and have struggled to develop as the lack of stability prevents them from having the right environment.

Wont lie I was a bit worried when I saw a few posts saying he prefers Arsenal but seeing people complain about St Etienne being money grabbing gives me real hope, not because they are but because often times thats been the last bastion of clutching at straws people usually throw out when facing defeat.

What a waste of time this transfer has been, you find out if the player actually wants the move before wasting a week trying to sign a player, if he has his heart set on another club leave and find someone else, the league's fastly approaching and we've signed one player? Sort it out mr levy please

what if we wait with concluding anything before we know whats happening - we'll find out soon enough.

Yet another transfer beginning to drag.

Fuck a duck, just fucking move on, all this time wasting with players or agents or club hierarchy ...

Fucking grinds my gears all this shit these days.

Either players and clubs want to do business or they don't.

Looks like all our targets now are becoming colder and colder. Good job we got one player in, can't really count players we loan back for a year

Bit worrying that we fly out to Singapore in 48 hours and we've basically made one proper signing.

We needed some pretty major surgery this summer and we are one injury to Ndombele back to being the same side as last year.

No depth in the AM positions, Eriksen and Toby's future up in the air, no decent RB, Aurier always injured and Trippier pony.

I agree and I'd love to look silly on this! But it's a bit worrying were wasting time and resources on a player who doesn't want to join us and even if we sign him he'll go back on loan? We still have a lot of work ahead

It's a bit worrying mate if I'm being honest don't get me wrong ndombele is a next level signing but he can't be the only one, poch himself talked about a painful rebuild, 1 player isn't that

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried, but Levy's already proved me wrong once this summer by getting Poch's #1 target. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he'll do it again.

I don't think it's that surprising he might choose snal ahead of us, they have shown more determination to get him and for some players that can count for a lot. He would walk into their side so he's guaranteed to be a starter at 19, get game time for a couple of seasons and then step up to a big club. If you were advising him it wouldn't be the worst move especially when they have a manager who has a history of bringing through young players.
Obviously I hope he chooses us, even if just to take the pi$$ out of my snal mates but if he chooses them I don't think it's the worst decision

Do you know this or do you assume this? Genuinely interested as to what Frenchies think of Arsenal today.

I go to Paris quite often for work. Some of the guys I deal with follow/ support Arsenal as their ‘English team’ . It’s a hangover from the Wenger years I guess.

Our main targets, Sessegnon, Ceballos and Lo Celso are all still in their 21 day holiday period after their respective tournaments, so it's likely that none would have been on that flight even if we signed them.

It's also worth mentioning Eriksen, Toby and Tripps haven't left yet, and the latter two have been mentioned as sell to buy areas.

No surprise really. They have only gone a year without him.

We don't know this.

But if that was the case i agree: it would be ridiculous for the club to go in for a player not wanting to join us (if they knew). Im sure they're optimistic they can get him since they're trying.

We do have Verts, Sanchez, Foyth and Dier - potentially Toby as well if he sees out his contract. I think we'll survive

Toby will be off next year, Jan is getting on so we need to plan if not for this season for long term, which why saliba made sense, hopefully they did their homework and saw if the player actually wanted to join would be silly if we wasted our time on a player who doesn't want to come
