didnt know untill i read it in the paper this morning, did know he was meant to be pushing for a place at the weekend but didntk now he was atchaly back in training untill i read it

Hope very soon , we do miss him although Steed has had his best 2 games for a while.

Why? In his one appearance at LB for us Bale wasn't particularly convincing. Jol thought he would be LB, eventually, but for the moment Lee's our best bet there, despite a couple of less-than-convincing performances recently.
I wouldn't attempt to second-guess JR. He might decide to continue with Malbranque at LM and try Bale at LB; he might also continue with Lee at LB, play Bale at LM, and play Malbranque at CM alongside Jenas or Zokora or Prince Bong. Or Huddlestone. Or Tainio.
Until January, and probably until June, he's got to cut his coat according to his cloth.
Against boro and villa he was quality at LB. Bale is better coming from deep.Has much more time on the ball. Against poor opposition(like tonight) Bale must play at left back.Against the Arsenal's and Man united's Lee should play. Against wigan Bale should play at left back.

O'neill even had a forward marking our LB in a desperate attempt to stop Bale running riot in the 2nd half.
And his goal against Boro was as good a FB goal as you will see.
Personally I would go with the Bale, Steed combination on the left if they are both fit for Sunday.

But defensively, he left something to be desired. I don't have a problem with this, the step-up from Championship to the Prem is huge. For the time being, Leapy remains our best LB.
I don't think we're too much in disagreement. JR will look at the LB/LM combination and decide what's best. I trust him.

By far our best left back replaced by by far our best left winger. You don't think they should play together?
We are at home to Wigan.
We need to set the tempo and have a go at them, A Bale/Steed combination will give us tempo and real attacking threat down that side. We are likely to dominate the ball in this game and it's important that we have attacking threats from wide and deep areas.
It's not 1 of the big 4 away where I would agree that we would need to look at being more solid at the off.
