Disappointing that the great football we were playing a few weeks ago seems to have dried up so quickly. Very pleased with the win nevertheless and hopefully we can push on from here.

Brighton are a very well coached side, would be interesting to see what Potter could do at a bigger club and with a budget, he'll probably get there one day.

Performance wasn't great but take out the goal that should no way have stood, and that's a 2-0 win and they had 1 shot on target. Honestly can't believe the ref allowed their goal to stand after watching the replay 20 odd times.
It's not a 2-0 win as if the free kick was given the whole games changes and Bale doesn't score his header. Or do you not understand how life works?

Huge 3pts. Not pretty, but 3pts.

Hate seeing us give up so much easy possession, and half the pitch when the opposition come forward. We're are not Good enough defensively to just allow PL teams to move the ball so comfortably. We also give up any form of ascendancy, even after going ahead.

That said, incredible to see Bale scoring in a Spurs shirt again. And were it not for the ref, we may have had another clean sheet.

A wins a win......COYS!!

Clear and obvious error
And the stupid VAR system made the person who made the glaring mistake an opportunity to rectify his mistake that happened right IN FRONT of his eyes. No ref would do admit something that happen right in front of them.

His argument was he slightly touch the ball first. Full of shat theory. So i can touch a ball then chokeslam an opponent afterwards. Lol

Made to look worse today by Ndombele totally off his game, thankfully Gio came on and we looked better...This team is crying out for a Modric trow right now, someone to control the middle.

Jose did say Ndombele picked up a knock against Burnley. I don't think he was really over it by today.

That was a great three points. Brighton are a decent side. Very strong at the back. They only really made two mistakes and we punished them, which is encouraging. As for their goal... how does that still happen with VAR?

And also how does our penalty happen with VAR

2nd and best GD in the league stop moaning!
I'm normally one who would say this but I do think some just want to see us have a bit more control.

I'm not asking for total domination however I don't think we can allow teams to have so much play, especially around the penalty area. A better team would have done better with their opportunities today and players will get tired of sitting deep.

I think to see us as champions we need something more in midfield to allow us to get a grip on games when we are having issues on the counter. Brighton had us under a bit of pressure at times and we couldn't hold the ball, that's when you need a midfield to wrestle control back for a bit to ease the pressure.

Sissoko was absolutely shocking and we seem to have no alternative for him the way Jose wants to play. Awful footballer

To the ones who disagree I am actually interested to hear what he provided. He lost several battles in the air, when he won a ball we usually lost it seconds later and offensively its nothing. Every pass is a wild shot if he reaches the way of a teammate or its simple backwards.
He offers effort and closing down here and their. But sorry thats not enough for me and wont help improve performances.

I don't think Liverpool of last season will be bothered much about how well they played when they were just all about raking in points. Even SAF teams could play like shit and still won but nobody faulted their performance.

The last 8-10 minutes were very very good and composed from the lads. Very impressive. And those time wasting will be very valuable to build on and improve as I think Mourinho would never ever want the spammers result to repeat again.

The performance will sort itself up when we play with more confidence as we win games. We don't become bad overnight. Some fear set us back, but wins will give us the momentum.

Now that I'm calmer now, I think we should cut some slacks on that. Seriously at the end of the day it's really the points that matter.

The midfield is our priority concern for me now.

We aren't controlling the middle of the park at any point. You can only get away with that for so long.

I've changed my mind on Skriniar for now. Get another CM who doesnt shy away from having the ball and can drive the team. We could sign another 2 or 3 CBs but we'd still have issues off the ball and when being pressed.

I think Hojbjerg has been our best midfield after the Everton game. I’m a bit worried about the Scum game, yes their defence looks dodgy but their forward line is dangerous and Partey looks a real player, wish we’d have gone for him as he looks a José player, strong, disciplined and good on the ball.

We seem to lose control of games. I'm not exactly sure why but it's definitely a pattern.

Ugly game. Credit to Brighton, who like many others against us, completely out hustled us all over the field for long periods. Not sure what is the answer. I was stunned at how static we were throughout. Again, the other team just seemed so much more up for the battle. Especially after our first goal. Son and Lamela were statues most of the game, and Ndomble seemed to find it hard after the yellow card. i know lots will complain about Jose and the tactics. But no coach, be it professional or at the youth level, coaches their players to never move and to be be as passive as possible and sloppy all game long. So please, piss off with that shit today. Again, too many players were lazy and lacked any sense of fight and energy for long periods of the game. That is what Jose has to get figured out. Why they get that way sometimes.

hard win. and delighted we didn’t drop points to one of the very worst ref decisions I have witnessed for quite some time. It was embarrassing as he obviously checked the monitor and it was obvious it was a foul and it was right in front of him, and felt like he maybe felt embarssed.

True it didn't help. We can't rely on Winks or Sissoko to give us this platform though, as we all know so can't hope that Ndombele is on it very game, we need an alternative.
