Jose did an interview for Spurs TV after the game that was brilliant. They also asked him why he was so calm after reaching a final. He just said something along the lines of ‘if you lose a final it’s a horrible day, if you win it it’s a brilliant day. That’s why I’m not sliding in my knees just because we’ve won a semi final. We still have work to do.’

It doesn’t matter if it was intentional or not. It was a dangerous action that endangered an opponent and was a red.

I remember going to an away game at WBA where Assou-Ekotto got a red for attempting a pirouette on the ball, and whilst looking in the opposite direction, caught the other guy unintentionally. Was a bit harsh if I remember correctly, but deemed dangerous play.

Mourinho just said Sanchez was very smart in not touching the player so the player would of dived and got a yellow card.

He is just trying to not throw him under the bus. He needs to understand when you get done in the box you have to not charge behind him. He was lucky opponent didn't have the footballing intelligence the majority of PL players have

Sons finishing is 100% up there with the best of the best. Through on goal and he scores time after time. Different types of finishes, high or low, right or left. Ice cool. Variety, accuracy, power, certainty.

He’s definitely been working on it under Mourinho. The improvement has been immense.

It shouldn’t be missed that Brentford are a very well coached side. They looked like a premier league side today, easily the match of anyone in the bottom 5 or 6, certainly better than Fulham imo.

Exactly the sort of attitude we’ve been crying out for.

I know reaching the CL final ( especially in the manner and circumstances we did) was a big thing, but the whole celebrations and build up to the game was like we’d already won it. From management, to players and fans. It was like a party and we’d forgotten we had the most important job ahead of us still.

Well I just watched the replay as mourinho was making the comment and Sanchez backs off before the Brentford player enters the penalty box.

Their manager Frank is worth watching IMO.

Why was he right up his arse then in the box? It's clumsy and very annoying trait of his

To be fair the way we got there was exhilarating and it was impossible not to get swept up in the euphoria.

That "skillmove" has about as much to do with football as 'turning tricks for money'.

Yeah I appreciate that, but the way Liverpool got there wasn’t exactly dull either. Our euphoria though seemed to go on too long imo.

Oh dear! You are joking of course? Comparing a Champions League Final to a League Cup takes some brainwashing! Let’s face it we won a couple of matches against second tier sides. We just sneaked past Brentford who were unlucky. Mind you we did at least have 50% of the ball so a big change.

Winning a LC final is nothing. We have won it several times and has never even registered as meaningful. It certainly won’t if we win it again. Sure beating one of the Manchester clubs again would be nice but the LC is worthless and always has been.

A little behind here. Game on pause whilst kids to bed.
just listened to Dier’s interview. Really liked what he was saying there. Players well aware that we have sat back too much in recent games. Great to hear they’re aware. Came across really well again.

I was quite disappointed by them. All they did was hit it long first half. I was expecting more. They were a better team last season.

Anyway there isn’t much difference nowadays between top championship teams and lower PL teams. I agree on that.
