Few thoughts:

1. We were too passive and unfocused in the 1st half.
2. Vini needs to improve significantly if we r to keep him. He was piss poor tonight.
3. Bale was good in flashes. More mins the better he will get.
4. Wycombe is one of the ugliest football playing teams I have ever seen. Hoofball and thuggery. Not even a small attempt to play football. Glad none of our players were badly injured. Thankfully their rough stuff didn’t cross a line.
5. We badly miss Lo Celso. Like him or loathe him, it is clear we only have three dependable CMs. PEH, Ndombele and Lo Celso. Sissoko is so limited. And despite Winks goal tonight, he had a few nice moments and some awful ones. We need consistency in that position. Hence why I can’t wait for us to bring back Skippy this summer and hopefully bring in Sabitzer.
6. The gulf in class between Lamela, Moura, Vini vs Sonny, Kane and Tanguy is massive.
7. Nballer. Dude is something else.

Yeah. The goal will only protect him from fans getting in his back until his next performance. He’s really dropped off the season which is a shame as he’s a likeable lad. He’s almost 25 now.

The wider point was that even though Rodon was preferable to Sanchez, if he's being earmarked for Liverpool then it wouldn't be a good idea to play him vs Wycombe, Vinicius struggled too but I'm sure none of us wanted Kane to do 90 mins.

He’s not played much football though. I think he could play both games. I used to like Sanchez but he’s just becoming a liability. I’ve just watched enough of Wycombe to know he was the better choice. Anyway let’s hope we win Thursday.

Tanguay also lost some more weight. Looking sexy
Not you specifically, but I see this quite a lot now, but do you not think it’s more a case of him playing consistently great and therefore looks “slimmer“?

Players are often “overweight“ etc when they have a bad couple of games, it seems.

The idea of Joe Hart shouting up to the gantry, mid-match, that Ndombele‘s a “world beater” has cracked me up ?

Rio gets Ndombele. People are starting to notice and the cliched narrative about him being subbed at Burnley is starting to fade.

They actually toned it down tonight on the gamesmanship. Every team in divisionn1 hated playing against them and it was so effective but it’s impossible to transfer that style to the championship.

They’re a physical side but they’ve never been a dirty one. Ainsworth wouldn’t have that from his team. Wasn’t a single booking was there?

You say Wycombe were dirty but they gave nothing away in their own half. I don't remember us having a single free kick in a dangerous area. Very disciplined performance from them.

Tbf it's the change in attitude not fitness that's made the difference. Jose saying repeatedly his focus is totally different to back then.

Most exciting player to watch in the Prem for my money at the moment.
I’m sure Klopp was watching tonight and will have a plan.

Did cross my mind but noticed a difference when he was subbed on. Could be better posture ?

Agreed. He's in there to get on the ball and orchestrate play. He just needs so much protection from his midfield partner and lacks that presence of similar midfield players at that high level. The team no longer plays to his tempo or strengths.

Did you watch the first half? You think we play like that against a team that is three or four times better than Wycombe and we can win? No. We would struggle.
It will be a different defence and a different game plan. You and I both know that.

Did I use the term ‘dirty’? No. Thuggery, yes. I also said, they didn’t cross a line.
