He did himself no favours with the changes, but can’t only blame him when only 3 players showed up for the game today.

No point starting an attacking team like that (with Bale and Doherty on Arsenal's most dangerous side) if you're not going to have a go at their defence. Simple as that.

Wrong team selection for the wrong tactics, and completely the wrong mentality too by the looks of how half-arsed some of the players looked. Terrible all round - need a convincing performance on Thursday to progress in the EL to recover some momentum.

Bottle the second leg to Zagreb and he's probably in real trouble again.

We played some decent games the last weeks and saw encouraging signs.
Don’t you see that this is exactly why the knives are out from some? He’s had it absolutely shown to him this past few weeks that we are actually kind of good when we try to play football, but he comes up against the behemoths of footballing brilliance that are mid table Arsenal, led by managerial mastermind Arteta, and he wets his little knickers.

Harry Kane not getting a chance in the box until we’re 2-1 down with 10 men and the clock ticking us unforgivable.

I keep hearing people talk about them being in 10th. It's the North London Derby. Position and form goes out the window. We were lethargic, poor on and off the ball.

Not sure if this was the game plan, but we cannot execute it. Arguably, the only time we played well was when we were down to 10 men.

I was amazed that Doherty was RB today. I was amazed at the bench. I was shocked at our performance. Seems there was no game plan, just play off the cuff. I have gone on record stating I want him to succeed, and I have not changed from that. But a combination of his selection (Doherty) and tactics truly leaves me miffed. In a NLD FFS!
He needs to go.

That performance has pushed me over the edge. No half hearted stance. I'm full Jose out. I want him out of my club now. No more.

And me.

I’ve been leaning to each side of the fence at various time of the season but now I’ve had enough and nothing will change my mind. Unforgivable to not get your players up for the NLD and having them put in a gutless performance.

The sad thing is we’re damned either way. We need CL to stay competitive, especially in the pandemic, so if he lucks his way to the EL trophy then we’re stuck with him. If we don’t get CL football I’m sure there’s a clause in his contract to get rid easily but we’d be hard pressed to attract the manager and players we need.

It’s depressing.

Lamela does well not to get sent off though to be fair. He knows how to push his limits without going over the top. He's aggressive but not really dangerous or particularly dirty. I think that's why Jose likes him, because he's an intelligent ****. The only reason I wouldn't have him as a regular starter is because he doesn't produce enough goals/assists for the position he plays. You look at Bale now on the right already showing the end product that Lamela, Moura and Bergwijn have struggled on a consistent basis. That for me is the difference between a good squad player and a starter.
This didn't age well :(

The selection of Doherty set off the alarm bells pregame and it proved to be justified.

It was like watching a self fulfilling prophecy in slow motion as we got destroyed down our left. Regardless of the lack of protection the fact Doherty was not replaced at half time meant that either Jose was trying to prove some point or that he has completely lost the plot.

Either way it was one of the worst managerial decisions of the season.

Since we beat Arsenal in the reverse fixture, we've played a top half team 8 times and lost every single one of them.

And some are holding out hope that Jose will miraculously beat Man City in the CC Final and navigate us through the ridiculously difficult sides left in the EL? No fucking chance.

Writing all that before the final whistle. You were really banking on us not getting an equaliser.

We play better on the front foot. We don’t play on the front foot against any team of any significance and it hasn’t really worked. Not much more to this than that. Expect the same against Villa next week.
Na mate even if we’d equalised it wouldn’t have changed my option to be honest I stand by it, the way we play in these games is horrendous not just the results it’s the negativity, lack of ideas with the balls, lack of attacks that is the issue, 13 shots vs 2 today against one of worst Arsenal sides for decades, if we’d got a lucky equaliser it would’ve been daylight robbery.

1,000,000% agree with your 2nd paragraph mate completely spot on.

And in the first derby this season we are sitting here with the same tactics for the game and name it a masterclass. I demand more offensive football too, but its not always that easy esp. in a very long season against a side who is best when you give them space. If Sanchez doesnt jump into Lacazette, who knows how it would have gone, Arse hasnt done shit in the 2nd half.

I dont want to defend a bad performance by the team, but this overreacting now I don't like at all...

Bad performance, not much energy, but fck me getting the knives out now again is utterly pathetic. We played some decent games the last weeks and saw encouraging signs. Next weeks will show if we can continue. Always bad to lose a NLD, but who expects now to win every game will be disappointed. Move on.

Get your point to a certain extent but this was more about the manner of defeat, if we had lost a hard fought battling 2-1 game then you can say yep defeats happen no matter how much they hurt but today was just a stark reminder of what we've seen all season and he really has no desire to change our tactics when we play teams that he perceives are as good.

Arsenal are coached by a Lego man with zero experience prior to this job and they just totally outplayed us.

Don’t be depressed. Jose can be easily and pretty much instantly upgraded with or without CL football.
