What disappointed me other than the inability to string passes together and present anything resembling a team spirit was the substantial lack of match fitness. There was a time when the players would be super fit and we would play for the full 90 mins.

I saw both Bale and Sissoko jogging around even though both came on as subs, but Winks, Son, Kane were Blowing out their arse for most of the second half in my mind. If we can't compete at a football level against a team like City then at least show some energy, desire and passion.

Really disappointed with the performance.

This again. Fucking hell.

The whole mentality of this club isn't geared toward winning, it's geared toward 'competing'. That's from the top so it's hardly surprising it filters down. He's happy that we're in with a shout, he's missed more than one opportunity to show he means business and wants to be a winner but no, 'competing' is enough, he's never understood the amount of kudos he'd have gotten if he actually went for it.

"Oh, but he's built a stadium/look where we were when he took over/be careful what you wish for"

The squad has been criminally neglected, we are the only club to ever go two consecutive transfer windows without making a signing. It's resulted in a decline of epic proportions.

"Oh, but he's built a stadium/look where we were when he took over/be careful what you wish for"

He's curls a 12 inch turd out on the chests of the fans and football in general, making us one of the 6 most hated clubs in England while he's at it, nobody wants to deal with him, the EPL are calling for his head, the Supporters are calling for his head and it's blatantly obvious that profit is king with him and ENIC

"Oh, but he's built a stadium/look where we were when he took over/be careful what you wish for"

All of us, pretty much all of us are so down on Spurs at the moment, there's nothing redeeming about us, the hope and joy, the enjoyment of watching us, all of it has been sucked out of us like a brass on crack sucking a pea through a smarties tube, the negativity surrounding us is monumental

"Oh, but he's built a stadium/look where we were when he took over/be careful what you wish for"

God forbid there's complaints because, yep, you guessed it......."Oh, but he's built a stadium/look where we were when he took over/be careful what you wish for"

Every time he gets criticised, one of his disciples crops up with it. Fuck that. Fuck it with a 24 inch dill covered in stinging nettles and ralgex
Other muscle relief ointments are available.

I honestly still cannot fathom the decision to bench Bale. Proven winner and performer in the biggest games in world football, in a squad sorely lacking players with a winning mentality, and he’s on the bench for Lucas fucking Moura
I assume the thinking is that if you are playing a team where you are going to have more of the ball, play Bale but since he has been here he has shown little inclination to do the dirty work out of possession and in a game versus City that will be like playing with 9 men since you already effectively have 10 when you select Winks to start...

I've been very critical of Dier but I thought he did well today.
I actually thought he played ok too. Put in a crucial block. Trouble is I don’t think with him it’s a lack of effort, he just genuinely doesn’t have the ability any more.

Wish I didn't come in here. I know we all love our club and get angry but come on. The way some of you are going on you'd think a bit of extra effort from the lads would have made up for the technical differences between the two sides. City haven't lost a final since being bought by oil money.

All this fuss about the ESL but football is already unfair. They bought great players and a great manager. 4 of these in a row. 3 PLs out of 4.

These near misses hurt but we're always going to be the underdog unless we luck out with an oil baron of our own. Certainly in a season like this one where the team has been poorly coached and has no identity.

Our best hope today was hanging in the game and getting a bit of luck (or a bit of quality from our forwards) to do it. We certainly weren't getting anything from the ref. It almost happened. I thought the effort was there, certainly was from Hugo, Toby and the much maligned (myself included) Dier. Yes Son had a 'mare but I'd never accuse him of not caring.

It sucks but that's just what I've come to accept from modern football now. Poch dared us to dream for a little while, came so close but just ended up getting mocked for it. We can knock ENIC all we want but unless we get an oligarch of our own we're always going to be fighting a losing battle these days.

I hoped the football gods were smiling on us today, it would have meant so much more to us than them.

i think most people’s issue is that we were so passive the whole game and lacked aggression, fight and that whilst the outcome if youplayed that game another 10 time’s would probably be the same 8-9 out of 10 we could have made it a lot less comfortable for them. The game to me resembled a training exercise

There was a final today and Spurs were in it and you know I didn't even discuss it with my children. We didn't do anything different to what we would normally do and nobody talked about the game once it had finished. My children couldn't have cared less they are so disconnected from the club (we used to go and watch Tottenham play, as a family, at least five times a year). How sad.

I have never, in all my years, felt so disconnected from this club, I have cried as a boy when we lost a game, that is how much much it meant to me. I had no feelings today and just carried on like a normal day. How sad is that.

This is my first post on here, even though I have read the forums for a few years now, and I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but something is seriously wrong with our club. I can only think it comes from the top and I am not blaming Mourinho because I think a new manager will have the same problems.

Mou was a serial winner but not here, that says everything we need to know about our club.

The thing that hit hardest after the game was Micah Richards saying ‘City fans deserve this’. Bollocks. They’ve had a lifetime and then some. Throw a bit out way, I’m tired of this shit.

Last week Micah Richards, former City player and City fan, had the audacity to say that Real Madrid and the other Super League club owners were threatening to ‘rip the heart and soul out of football’. I wanted to vomit. His beloved City have been ripping the heart and soul out of football for a decade now.

I could post this in various threads on here but here goes: Football is broken. The Super League idea was half baked and terribly executed but reform is massively needed. The EPL title is already won with 5 games to go by the wealthiest club/biggest spenders. The relegation places are already decided with 2 of the 3 promoted teams going back down and swapping places with 2 of last season’s relegated teams. The other team to go down (Sheff Utd) was only promoted the season before. Everyone just has their place on the ladder which is largely determined by how much they spend, which in turn is determined by how they performed in the few years before due to the obscene amounts of prize money available to an elite few. It’s not competitive, and it’s not a level playing field. I wasn’t in favour of the Super League and it’s embarrassing that we signed up, but that hasn’t angered me anywhere near as much as the romantic notion that the current ‘pyramid’ is worth protecting, which has been spouted by players, pundits and media whose viewpoint is rooted in either fantasy or self interest.

We can do everything right - as we did from 2015-2018 - but for as long the game is weighted in favour of the game’s deepest pockets we’re not getting near City.

He does seem to be one of the few that actually care and hurt when we lose, it’s just a shame he doesn’t have the ability he showed when he first joined and that lack of ability has been the reason we have lost on a number of occasions but not today.

Could play that game 10 times and I don’t think we could have had a more disappointing performance. We were just about as bad as possible without actively trying to score own goals.

I realise we were underdogs and City are a top team but we have to show more than that. We still had 11 highly paid international footballers out there that should have been able to come up with a game plan and at least partly be effective at it.

I assume the plan was to be compact and soak up pressure and hit on counter, and to play through midfield with the team selected. Well, we were lucky not concede at least 3 and were totally incompetent on the ball.

Am just sick of not turning up in big games, it has to be the mentality as even lower league teams in the cups put up more of a fight than us.

We need a major rebuild and if we have to sacrifice a few big names (not players) to do so be it. I would include Gio and Tanguay in that too. Rather than big name players we need a team and an identity that has been lost.
