Bring back Noni Madueke. The kid is going to be a star and is apparently available for just €15m this summer.

Can see him going to the Bundesliga and becoming the next Sancho.

Since Poch famously said we needed a painful rebuild after the CL final defeat, we have actually replaced half of the squad and invested close to £150M in the first team.

Sales:
Vorm (released)
Gazzaniga (released)
Trippier £20M
Vertonghen (released)
Rose (released)
Wanyama (free)
Eriksen £17M
Llorente (released)
Janssen £8M
KWP £12M
N’Koudou £4M
-----------------
TOTAL £61M

Purchases:
Sessegnon £25M
Lo Celso £45M
Ndombele £54M
Hart (free)
Bergwijn £27M
Højbjerg £15M
Doherty £15M
Rodon £11M
Reguilon £27M
------------------
TOTAL £219M

Net Spend £148M

That is the problem I alluded to in an earlier post, it isn’t that we haven’t spent, but that we haven’t improved our 11.
Of those players I think 4 (gio, tanguu, PEH and Reggie) were expected to be starters off the bat. Add to that of the players we lost at least 4 (super Jan, Erikson, rose and trip) were not only in our 11 but were some of our best players, so we have not only improved the 11, but also regressed by not replacing those players adequately.

It is however easier said than done when trying to improve an already quality squad, particularly with a gun shy owner.
Re Poch I think all of those excluding Sess were signed post his era which were then a knee jerk reaction when mr levy was left with no choice or reason (given the stadium loan) to spend.

News that moose has now come out with a statement about leaving!
Strange how few of our players are open about leaving, maybe it is a way to force levy to sell as it has been reported in the past the he has prevented exits of fringe players by excessive transfer fee demands.
We need to move players out to move on, so hopefully this summer is the time.

Where have you read that? He’s contracted until 2024 and I haven’t seen anything about him having a release clause. Would be an absolute no-brainer at that price — but it seems unlikely he’ll go that cheap.

Yes!

Get the fuck in!

His statement comes the day after Auriers. What's the chances of the third Amigo, NDombele following suit?

The 3 of them seem pretty pally & weren't they also part of the squad that (seemingly) refused to travel to the last match of the season?

Our clearout is looking quite promising so far. Rose and Gazzaniga released. Vinicius unlikely to be kept and big question marks over Bale. Villarreal will probably take up the option on Foyth. Aurier obviously off and Sissoko open to leaving. Lots of talk of Lamela looking to head back to Italy. Bergwijn linked with Ajax. Toby very likely to go if Poch rejoins. Carter-Vickers won't be short of offers. Few clubs linked with Sanchez as well. That's 12 players linked with exits (plus Kane obviously)

Probably a few there I would prefer to keep and few more not linked that I'd like to leave, but definitely some encouraging early signs.

Sissoko is the one to go though. I’ll actually celebrate the day he goes. I’ve never been like that about any player to play for us but I just can’t stand him. Jonnie Jackson pails into insignificance compared to him!

It would be such a pleasant surprise if we were finally ruthless and decisive with our outgoings this summer

Can't disagree at all mate. I've got a feeling (based upon what we learned in the Amazon documentary) that the "influential" Sissoko could be a sizeable reason for some of the questionable attitudes we've seen within our squad.

Can't help but feel he's created a bit of a clique mentality.

I think he's been a good servant. He's not good enough, but not his fault he was brought in for such a huge fee. He's always done what he's been asked to, works hard for the team, never made an issue of things to the press etc. I also think there's a reason why manager after manager has played him. The fact that there's no better option isn't on him, but is damning of our chairman and our transfer dealings. I'll be happy to see him go, as it means we'll be upgrading in the midfield, but I won't be celebrating his departure on a personal level.

Fair play.

I'll celebrate for the both of us.
