We've been linked to him for years so makes sense.

Think with Fonseca coming in and being pretty easily replaceable (cost wise and potentially staff wise if reports are to be believed) we should see us going for longterm club targets this summer as opposed to letting him dictate too much.

Anderson, Sabitzer, Ings, Gonzalez, maybe Aarons etc

Really hope we can work in another CB. That’d be the dream for me.

Demiral is one who's been linked with us a fair bit and is obviously playing in Italy atm, maybe Paratici will be looking at him as an option. I'd be happy with that.

Yeah, like him a lot. Aggressive defender, and I’m sure many won’t want him after his OG yesterday because that’s the only time they’ve seen him.

Botman, Demiral, Milenkovic and Anderson. 2 of those would be amazing. I’d keep Toby around and sell off Sanchez and Dier.

Agree re Sanchez and Dier, think it'll be really interesting to see whether Fonseca keeps the back three from this season at Roma or goes back to his system at Shaktar.

Haven't watched Milenkovic really but personally have a few doubts about Botman from whenever I've seen him. Dominant in the air and good in 1v1s but isn't the quickest on the turn and I'm not sure how well he'd fit into a more high-line, high-pressing system (which might not be Fonseca's style as it looks like he prefers a mid block but just for future managers who might want us to play on the front foot a bit more). Have similar concerns about Anderson but his ball-playing/price/character means I can understand why he'd be an option.

Either way two CBs needed at least yeah.

Di Marzio echoing similar about Nico Gonzales. Good player but nothing crazy and has had big injury issues all year, prob the ilk of players we should get used to though for the short term future

Yeah, I get that re: Botman/Anderson. Think if you get one of those you mold them to play the center of the 3 role (I’m assuming we go 3 at the back with our fullbacks better served as out-and-out wingbacks). I like Rodon for the LCB role and keep forgetting about Tanganga, who could be awesome as a RCB type that marauds forward. Davies also could probably be a good fit for LCB in a 3. We have some options already, some of which I think are good options, just need way better coaching.

This kind of link suddenly makes me think that, with Serie A in financial doodoo, bringing in Paratici makes so much sense in terms of being able to get in some affordable quality from that league.
If we’re going serie a shopping this summer, id love to go back in for skriniar(we DESPERATELY need a top CB) & hope we go for McKennie. I just think McKennie is the type of player our fans will fall in love with if he takes to the PL. Good all around midfielder. A bit of everything in him. Real good potential. Added bonus, Daniel will love him for the marketing in the states.

Why not sign him & hopefully keep Bale? Lord knows we’ll need something to feel good after this disaster

I really think the Bale ship has sailed to be honest. Its sad but as good as he is I think its clear we need to be a team of hard work, young talent rather than huge names.

Gonzalez is a really impressive player who has a very high ceiling to become a top right wing forward.

Quick, agile, great feet and a great dribbler, direct and a goal threat.

Massive potential but the biggest drawback with this is he has been extremely injury prone the past season and a half. It’s a major concern.

If he can stay fit though, it could be a superb signing.

Another intriguing wing player. I'll be shocked if we add both, even though it wouldn't be a bad idea. We greatly need a refresh from Lamela & Lucas, IMO.

Its also interesting that I think both Thuram & Gonzalez can play striker in a pinch.

I agree. But i also think bale would have a bigger role if he stays under fonseca(although his defensive work rate would still be non existant)

There’s them and a fair few others. I actually think the overall quality in Serie A is quite high, it’s just spread out which is why there’s no really top side in the league, think opposite of Ligue 1, so I’d not be shocked if we uncovered a couple of gems that we’ve not every really heard of this summer.

Its also bizarre to me that we haven't signed a player from the Bundesliga since Son. That was 6 years ago now.
