Despite his very obvious limitations, I do quite like Sissoko as a personality. Hope he does well at Napoli if he goes there.

Don’t think we’ve been linked this session but we’ve been linked in previous years, Zakaria looks like exactly what we need in the middle.

Will do, guess I'll have to wait for UK sources for Gonzales and Thuram?
At least DiMarzio and RMC are good sources for these kinds of rumors :pompous:. Will probably be a few weeks as all the UK press want to link us too is CBs (which is needed but debating CBs is boring lol)

If we’re diving into serie a head first then italian sources will be decent tbf

I think he and Hojbjerg would be a little too defensive. But if you figure out RW and Lo Celso or Ndombele can lock down the #10 spot I guess that could work.

For Gonzalez it’s all about injuries. Big muscle injury (thigh) that he then reaggravated, cost him almost 4 months. Before then had some smaller injuries, some contact, some muscular. At a young age, it does worry me, but a profile that’s needed badly in the squad.

Can play up top, on the right, or on the left, rapid, technically sound. Will take on defenders without momentum (important quality that is non-existent in the squad, bar Lucas, kind of) with technical dribbling and raw pace out wide or through the middle of the pitch. Like his finishing with his left, a lot of variety and distances, although he is one-footed with his finishing. Aggressive out of possession. He isn’t the tallest, but he’s a great leaper and dangerous with his heading, like Lucas.

At least two (hopefully 3 or 4, although I do think Bale is very useful against the lesser sides) of Bale, Vinicius, Lamela, and Lucas out replaced by Thuram and Gonzalez would be perfect to refresh the attack, and probably all that has to be done there. Don’t think we’d need another striker, as Son, Thuram, and Gonzalez all can play there well. The squad needs trimming in addition to refreshing, I think more players need to be sold than bought. And would be great to start with 2 dynamic, young, versatile, talented, and established attackers.

Maybe. I’d say neither offer less going forward than either Wanyama or Dembele, albeit I’m basing my entire view on Zak on today’s match
That's fair. I still think the lack of a secondary midfielder who could find a pass to take the load of Eriksen was a big reason for our shortcomings under Poch. But I'd happily bring back the steel in midfield if it could get us back to where we were.

Also, if Fonseca wants to play a 3-4-3 and we get really attacking wingbacks that duo is interesting.

I think our biggest reason for our failures under Poch was we had no one to take the bull by the horns. We had a team of Robins when we needed a Batman
