He stuck to his word, said he'd stay with spurs as long as we stayed competitive. We haven't.

I do agree with this however.....
Man City are the same club who did not want to let us have Sancho (who hadn’t even made a single appearance for them at the time) during the Walker negotiations. We should not sell them Kane for a cent less than £150m.

We should not help them out by taking their deadwood. We should not lower the price because of covid. We should not allow this to go on all summer.

Set a price and a deadline and stick to it.

Fuck Man City, sell Kane to PSG or something and let's see how badly he wants to leave.

I think we need him gone this summer, it just seems the right time to cash in and reshape the team. We will of course find him irreplaceable but it was the same when the likes of Carrick, Modric, Berbatov and Bale went, the show will go on.

£150m in this market could get us the 3 or maybe 4 players we need to be competitive, especially if one is a cut price Danny Ings.

would love a deal that involved Phil Foden - but I know that’s a complete dream.

Normally I'd be completely against selling Kane. But right now a lot of teams are financially struggling. The likes of Sabitzer is being touted for around £15m.

I have no idea how accurate these prices are but it's certainly possible that there are going to be some very good deals about. To make the most of it we would need to sell a number of other players for squad numbers though.

Given the choice I'd still rather keep Kane but it's not as certain as it once was.

Trouble is people talk about how we need to rebuild and should take 125m or whatever but as soon as you have 125m pound burning a hole in your pocket everyone knows you're desperate to spend it, especially if you've just sold your best/fan favourite player.

By the time you factor in the everyone knows your desperate/have money to burn factor and that everyone knows PL clubs can pay more generally, we'll be lucky to get 2 starting 11 players for that and neither of them will be as good as Kane.

We stand to lose far more by letting him go and having a half-arsed attempt at a rebuild than we do by keeping him and building around him and hoping he's too professional to down tools IMO. At least for the next season while we get settled with the new manager.

That's true I guess - this summer's £120m might be the equivalent of another summer's £240m, if we put it all back into players.

*Contentious opinion klaxon*

If Kane genuinely wants out for the ‘glory’ of guaranteed medals, then it’s time to cash in.

He’s going to be an injury time-bomb next season, with so little time to recuperate after the Euros - and I have a feeling the next ankle issue could be a game-changer.

No better time to sell than this summer.

Alternatively, clubs know you have money so start 'offering' players at good value.

That's generally not how life works though is it. Anyone you're offered without actively trying to get is by definition someone that their current team is looking to offload so hardly the cream of the crop. And given that levy will be under enormous pressure to use the money well and everyone knows it, why would anyone offer us decent players for less than they think we can pay for them?

It should be £150m base + add ons getting up to £250m. City can eat shit. As can kane & his brother. The way they’ve been acting? They can fuck right off. Fuck levy but fuck these 3 parties too.

Unless the team really need the money, and offer their best asset so the lose one player, rather than several, to raise the most money.

Bit like Inter will probably do soon enough.

If we somehow get Sterling I'm going to lose it. There's something very strange about his technique and his ball striking.

I was never on board with talk about him being world class. All his best attributes are without the ball, pace, movement, etc.

Honestly don't see any City players agreeing to come to us unless they are youth players.

Need cash up front and not spread over x amount of years

What is interesting is how the stories have come out very recently about Sterling not being happy with his lack of game time at City…

I'd take 100m and Laporte tbh. Jesus isn't really a player I'd like, but he's not terrible.

Sterling on the other hand has no upside. High wages, not the type of player we need and imo not all that good.
