Probably the best price we'll ever get for Kane whilst maximising his time here.
Part of me wonders how long we'll have of peak Kane with his ankles and he's 30 next summer but then look at walker, well into his 30s and the pace is still there.
The process of accepting him leaving is beginning, I do worry about the quality of strikers out there, clearly hard to replicate Kane.
It was a joke. There’s nothing masterclassy in this.
But there was nothing from Madrid that summer saying they would never pay anything close to the price tagTo be fair all these kind of briefs came from the club during the summer we lost Bale. There would be no upside in saying anything else given that we haven't yet completed any deals.
Still not sure he'll be staying but I think the biggest indication will be our spending (or lack thereof) rather than any media reports from now until the end of the window.
All about money. The player loses out on loyalty payment which is usually paid from transfer fee. Players have copped that if a club wants to sign you they will and you don't need to hand in transfer request and miss out on cash.Slight aside; but what has happened to ever handing in a transfer request? It hardly ever happens nowadays.

The last high profile one I remember is Zaha.Slight aside; but what has happened to ever handing in a transfer request? It hardly ever happens nowadays.
Even if he did hand in a transfer request someone still has to meet our valuation….and with three years still to run on his contract I’ll be very surprised if anyone gets even remotely close to that….Slight aside; but what has happened to ever handing in a transfer request? Spurs and Chelsea don't do business together so wouldn't happenComplete different topic, but if we would sell Kane, what would people think about Abraham + Ings as recplacement?
I'm curious why Abraham never gets mentioned, he seems to want to leave Chelsea and is a good striker.
Whilst I'm sure he's still a fan at heart football is also his career and the club is his place of work, and that's going to affect his perception massively in comparison to ours. Tbh it's why, even though positions have come up where I'd be a really strong candidate, I'd never work for Spurs.
We need at least one striker and one or two forwards/attacking players this summer. If Kane does leave we would need one more.
Bale
Vinicius
Lamela
Kane
Not one of them will be replaced by Parrott, Scarlett or Clarke. At least noe for a year or two (in Clarke´s case most likely never).
Gil comes in for Lamela. But he´s 20 y.o. and no-one can expect him to be a concistent player in his fiorst PL-season at that age.
The problem is that there are just a handful of players that are remotely close to be on the same goal scoring level as Kane. Mbappe and Lewandovski would never join us. Ever. The former would cost borth of 200million (sold to PSG for 163M a few years ago). Lukaku wouldn´t either, and he would cost at least 80-90 million. We could of course try to convince Haaland that we are building a new, young and exciting team with Gil, Damsgaard, Skipp and him. I doubt that would be sufficient to convince him though. And if we were able to, he would still cost at least 100-120M this summer. Next summer he has the 75M clause being activated, but the whole world knows that, and there are several clubs that would give him twice per week thant we would.
Bale and Kane both counted as HG. Kane also as a club trained player. Gil, if I understand correctly - as he´s under 21, will not count against the HG-rule.
What HG-players can we realistically get and can help us develop as a team and get the goals needed?
Danny Ings, one year older than Kane, has been mentioned by many. Also a player with injury problems - both old and recent. Because of his age he won´t really bridge the gap until Scarlett and Parrott (hopefully) are at a stage when they can step and be relied upon as regular PL starters. But Ings i definitely a good player and one that has a at least a couple of top years left in him.
What other players could possibly help fill the void if Kane is leaving? A HG, proven PL-scoring and -assisting shaped hole?
Forget about the Fodens, Mounts, Rashfords and Greenwwods: they won´t leave their clubs for us - not now as we would be a step down both on sporting level and financially.
Aston Villa´s Ollie Watkins? He won´t come cheap! If Villa is even remotely interested in selling.
Chelsea´s Tammy Abraham? Reportedly Arsenal is interested and maybe in discussions.
Leeds´ Patrick Bamford? Will be 28 later this year. Leeds probably not interested in selling - would take a sizeable bid.
Leicester´s Kelechi Iheanacho? Uncertain if he counts as HG (at Man City since he was 18), and more than doubtful that Leicester would sell.
ManUtd´s Jesse Lingard? Several clubs are after him, but also reports he wants to stay and fight for a spot/new contract at MU.
My personal favourite - by far - would be Everton´s Dominic Calvert-Lewin (24). Perfect age. Ticks a lot of the boxes we would like to see in a forward/striker. They probably wouldn´t let him go for anything less than £50M. If they know we are replacing him with Kane-money from City, even more.
DCL and Ings would be a very interesting pair. Proven goal scorers. And would most likely cost us anywhere between 70-90M in total (Ings costing 20-30 and DCL covering the remainding).
For me Ings is far too injury prone and abrahams is bang average so a big no from me….Complete different topic, but if we would sell Kane, what would people think about Abraham + Ings as recplacement?

That went well.
