If City has to come up with any kind of offer that equals our valuation, it cannot be done without their player(s) involved in the deal.

If Citeh do not have the cash to pay for Kane, they can sell their rejects elsewhere rather than dumping them on us.

Any swap deal would presumably also be difficult as we do not pay Citeh wages.

Let’s hope everyone involved has been told in no uncertain terms it’s this price and by this date otherwise you get on with it.

I'd have Jesus, Laporte +£100m if City are intent on being disgusting, flagrant knobjackets about it - which they will be, of course, since money and the concept of capitalism means nothing to them.
No City player is going to move down the ladder and join us as part of the deal.
Simply not going to happen.

Will City have to sell in order balance things out in their squad? Yes, of course, but those players will all move to clubs that are in the CL.

The players mentioned in 1 post were Laporte £120k and Jesus £90k. As we paid Ndombele £200k and Holjbjerg £100k a week I wouldn't be so sure on the salary side anymore.

Opinion and speculation. But will have to see how it pans out.

But it needs to happen now, if it's going to happen at all.

Surely it depends on the player.

Laporte played 16 league game for City last season. Jesus would likely be down the list if Kane joins.

1st team football with us and the same salaries and they might not be as reluctant as you think.

I thought capitalism was all about doing whatever it takes to be the biggest bully in the playground. No matter who gets hurt or trodden on. City to my mind is quintessential capitalism in operation.

If Enic have a collective brain cell between them they'd be getting in replacement strikers now...have some foresight for Once and buy wisely. Spend their OWN money like Liverpool, City, Chelsea have done over the years and at crucial periods... this is such an instance.

I kind of disagree.
The players we may like like Laporte, Silva , Jesus are very well within our wage limit.

I honestly can live with Kane going, but only if the money is invested in Romero, another top CB and a decent striker. I could live with Jesus being included in the deal. There are far worse options.

Re-posted in here rather than clogging up the ITK thread. Need more than that really. I would like to think the Romero deal will be thought of as partly our money and what we may look to make in other sales. I think if Kane goes you need 2/3 really promising attack-minded players to compensate.

Sorry why would any City player want to leave guaranteed trophies to come to us? Kane wants to go to City for that reason. We won't get any players in exchange. They'll have to sell to make up the money.

It’s actually really quite sickening seeing one team steal the heartbeat of two by taking their best players. You just don’t see that happen and that’s why city are an absolute cancer on football. Villa will be no doubt ruined without Jack and we will struggle without Kane. Also both players are products of their youth academy as well.
Did Man United not do that for years? Bayern have certainly been doing it in the Bundesliga for years, Real? Barcelona?

I guess the point is that City, and moreso their supporters, will never, ever see it that way. The City I grew up seeing were yoyo-ing all over the shop. Nowadays, they think they have a God-given right to be where they are, all the while forgetting that none of it is due to hard work or savvy business sense.

Both the Bundesliga and La Liga have had 'surprise' winners though. Dortmund and Wolfsburg not that long ago and Atletico only last year. The likelihood of that happening in the PL is getting reduced year on year.

Dont think I'd want any City players out of principle.

Why help them offload players on silly money?

Plus I think a lot of players that move down the ladder often cant motivate themselves anymore.

In general I think we should be looking to sign players on the up who want to progress.
