I think some are missing the point here. He didn't ask for an extra week, he just told us he was taking it. When he was told no EVERYONE else would back on time he just took it anyway. Pre season is essential to get up to speed for the new season and more so when you have a new man in charge. It's incredibly selfish and unprofessional and an "I told them so it's fine" attitude just doesn't cut it.

can we just make this a pop up that you have to click an “acknowledge” button for in order to continue on to the ‘Player Watch: Harry Kane’ thread

And let’s be honest, the reason he thought it was fine to have that extra week regardless of the club’s wishes, the new coach, pre season, and everything else, is because he didn’t expect to feature ever again. He imagined the time would be used to seal his move.

So we are clear. They offered 100m included choice of about five players, which they valued circa 50m average, who is on very high wages mind, and balance cash. One of those players (Sterling) who wouldn’t come anyway! We would only get 20m cash.

This is the type of negotiation ‘Glad-all-over’ expects us to sit down and negotiate. 200m or very near-CASH! Then we ‘May’ negotiate. Work the odds out on that for yourself.

Harry Kane, and I hinted this with emojis couple days ago, has played a worldly in ‘Dumb and dumber’
Thanks Herc, as I said before we have negotiated, they put in an offer we said no, ball in is in their court now, we do not have to go back and say we want x. This is how a negotiation works, do City and Charlie not get this, or are they using the spoilt little child negotiating tactics and throwing all their toys out the pram

The rest of the sqaud have been playing pre season friendlies whilst hes been mixing it with Micky Mouse on his AWOL extended holiday. He cant be fit ready for the season.

He can still pay a role on the day- pulling pints or stint in the Spurs shop as he is still on the payroll

Up to the club now to stand their ground, if he has taken the extra week without being granted permission and in doing so stuck two fingers up at everyone involved, most of all the fans, then he has got to be sanctioned. No one is bigger than the club and this cannot be set as a precedent for others to follow. Minimum 2 weeks wages and public statement from the club detailing the correct version of events.

I posted the Lloris interview after the Zagreb game the other day. The Kane situation now really shines a new light on his words.

I just rewatched that interview. Hugo Lloris…what a man. Somehow he managed to say, in his second language, everything I was feeling but didn’t know how to say in my first language.

So what're we thinking? Kane is gonna start for us week in week out? I just don't see how he can put on the shirt for us anymore, there needs to be a resolution ASAP

Maybe relevant for Kane and City. Villa actively tried to sell Grealish to other clubs rather than City for fear they are distorting the competitiveness of the PL. According to Ornstein they’re not alone in taking this perspective

Might just be rewriting the past but given the Amazon documentary and his fawning over Mourinho, it really makes you wonder if he was the catalyst for Poch going, because when stuff got tough it didn't suit Kane's ego. Feeling like the boy Kane has hoodwinked us a bit and for some reason it feels worse than Bale or Modric looking to move.

I'd like to add that if City are not currently in discussions with the club about a transfer for him then Pep stating he is their number one priority is nothing but tapping up in the media. Why haven't the FA/PL cracked down on this?

Fuckers should be playing in League 2 with a transfer ban anyway, sickens me.

It’s worse than Bale and Modric because he is an academy product, he’s the embodiment of the football dream - working your way through the ranks to become a star for your boyhood club, the best striker in the league after being written off as a one season wonder. He was apparently instrumental in standing up to Ade, Kaboul et al and supporting Poch. He’s “one of our own”
That’s why it feels worse because it is!!
