Personally think it'll be him or Vlahovic with Kane staying.
If we are looking at players in that price range at this stage, we are def selling Kane imo. I know there have been stories saying they will play with Kane, but this is Spurs. Do not believe we are splashing close to 60 mil as a wing forward or backup nr 9

Today in world football, there are probably only 3 or 4 players who can play that 2nd striker role perfectly.
Griezmann, Son, Muller (in his good days) and Lautaro. If I stretch a bit, may be Richarlison has that potential, if he puts his mind to it instead of theatrics....

Lautaro signing would give us the means to play him alongside Kane, with Son in the wings. If Kane is leaving, we should look to sign him & Vlahovic. Really hopes we can go that extra mile to get someone like him.

With regard to Inter Milan :
The club are owned by a Chinese company called Suning. Covid has hit it hard and in an an effort to what they called 'improve equity structure' they had to sell 23% of their shares to state owned investors. This has coincided with Chinese president XI Jingping handing down new directives for Chinese owners of football clubs in Europe to pull out of the sport, instead ordering them to refocus their efforts on a national level.
They bought Inter in 2016 and it is estimated they have invested a staggering $845m. Now they are desperate to sell the football club and an offer from a company called BC Partners (British based) collapsed earlier this year. Suning valued Inter Milan at $1.2bn whilst BC only offered $903m.
The club desperately needs an injection of capital. There are talks of salaries not being paid and players foregoing their title winning bonuses from last season to try and help out. The financial press estimate they lost $120m in 2020 and this years estimate lies between $180m and $250m. They are currently in talks to try and arrange for a $300m loan to try and cover their losses. They have also lost €54m of sponsorship revenue from the expiration of contracts with Fullshare Holding Limited, King Dawn Investments Limited and Beijing Yixinshijie .
Bloomberg estimate their total debts at $602m so they are in desperate trouble financially.

With regard to Italian football as a whole then the pandemic has hit hard but as someone remarked to me earlier this week there are a lot of loan/option to buy deals being negotiated in order to try and gain the time required for a recovery. This is perfectly illustrated by Fabio's recent activities in the transfer market which is what he always attempted at Juve.
There is no doubt that the current financial status of Serie A is unsustainable. Their losses totalled €754m last year (only €292m the year before).
There are only 3 (bank) debt free clubs at this moment in time, Cagliari, Fiorentina and Naples. The highest net debts (in euros) are our friends Inter Milan at €630m, Juventus €458m and Roma €552m. One of the other healthy clubs is one we have just had dealings with, Atalanta, who have posted a profit for four seasons running due to Champions League qualification and exceptionally good transfer deals. (Romero being a classic example).

So you can see that currently Inter Milan and Italian football are both in a mess financially, largely due to what I would term as compulsively high purchases in recent years. It is hoped that this massive swing towards loan deals will prove a major factor in allowing the situation to recover.

I hope that gives you a better picture. In answer to your other question my answer would be 'No', give me Vlahovic instead, but that is only my personal opinion and I am open to be persuaded otherwise should Spurs just go for him and not buy the two together.

Sorry for the long post, but you did ask (y)
I took a look at a Chinese Inter fans forum and one of them summarised their major liabilities:-

1. EUR275m from Oaktree Capital, interest at 12% p.a. (i.e. EUR33m interest per year), repayable by 2024
2. EUR75m bonds issued in Jul 2020, interest at 4.875% p.a. (i.e. EUR3.7m interest per year), mature in 2022
3. EUR300m bonds issued in Dec 2017, interest at 4.875% p.a. (i.e. EUR15m interest per year), mature in 2022

So by the end of 2022 they need to repay the principal of EUR375m, in addition to the interest of around EUR50m and other instalments of player purchase etc. In 2018/19 they made loss of EUR40m. In 2019/20 due to COVID they made loss of EUR102.4m. The first half of 2020/21 they made loss of EUR62.7m. Basically they are financially f**ked.

Given Inter’s troubles it kind of begs the question of if massively overspending is worth it. Like, they won the league last year, I’m sure all of us would love to experience that. Inter aren’t likely to go extinct, they’ll sell a lot of players, spend a few years in mid table then be back. They’ve done this before.

Would anyone trade our steady eddie owners for that kind of rollercoaster?

To be fair we are back in mid table without the trophies anyway ?

i hope not. I can’t think of any good attacking sides that play with a front 2

From the clips I've seen and what we know about Kane, I don't think it'd play as a 2. Seems both like to come deeper and pick up the ball and if they could form a good partnership that would be deadly

Is he that good though? People are saying Aguero but that seems very high praise.

I don't know as I haven't really seen him

Comparison is fair although hes no carbon copy. He is similar in many was as he also has similarities to falcao in that hes shorter in stature, industrious and a busy player whilst in the box hes quite explosive and direct. His finishing isnt top top draw but he is only 23.
Can he lead the line on his own? Im not so sure. Potentially flanked by 2 pacey wide forwards i think he could do very well. I wouldnt pay anymore than 60m but our options are limited especially in his bracket of quality. If it wasnt for financial restrictions we would have ALOT more competition for him.

3 up top with him on the right? Or some weird formation with a LWF and 2 CFs?

Problem with 2 CFs for us is it means Son, Gil, Moura, Stevie or whoever have to play as old fashioned wide midfielders and they are not wide midfielders. Unless you have a super defensive central midfield which rules out Lo Celso, Dele or Ndombele.

Regardless of how good Lautaro has been in Italy my preference is for us to play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with Son and one other either side of a CF. If Lautaro doesn't fit in that system I'd rather we didn't sign him.

I want Kane to go but there is a situation that we are spending the Kane money but not necessarily selling this summer. We know atleast 90-100m is coming next summer anyways regardless of whether we wait to next summer to effectively replace him. If we succeed this season we will have CL money next summer to offset this summers spending. If we dont succeed. we sell Kane.

That way we have a season where our team gels somewhat by next summer...

Thank you yet again for your kind comments. I just wish I could persuade all the supporters in here who are still comparing our past to the present that things really are about to change for the better. I guess events will just have to take their course and to coin yet another English saying "The proof will be in the pudding".

The expression is: "the proof of the pudding is in the eating" but a lot of English people seem to get this wrong

I've never watched the lad at all. But I assume he's good for that kind of money!

It does make me laugh that he is this amazing world beating talent that we would be lucky to sign, but we already have son who is better!
