In leading on the potential Kane sale Levy effectively controls all remaining buying options too?

We have one budget if he goes and a much smaller one if he stays.

The win at the weekend buys Fabio time in considering how to upgrade CB and RB but it’s up top of course where the serious money my be spent. The past doesn’t dictate the future but who’s confident we’ll have a better squad than last year when the window slams shut- and why? beyond throwaways like Pat is the Don and lessons have been learnt? ?

One thing is for sure, I bet the Kane saga is very frustrating for Paratici and Nuno.

They will both want it sorted one way or the other so that they can plan what we do for the rest of the window. This is why the deadline set by Levy is so crucial, as everyone needs clarity asap.

Akin to trying to book a holiday with someone faffing about whether they're coming or not, for us plebs.

Week or so left with not knowing if we need to replace him.

DV seemingly on his way to Atletico now too, HK simply cannot be let go unless we miraculously sign LM

Either way we do need to prepare for the future or biscuit ankles(!) so feels like a bit of a kick in the teeth if we don’t get another quality striker in.

If Kane’s staying then no surprise this isn’t happening, we’re not going to sign a £60m player who will spend more time on the bench than the pitch, I know a lot seem to be saying he’ll play along side Kane but I just don’t see us playing 2 up top, the players we have don’t suit it

We don't need to play 2 up top. What we need is someone to rotate with Kane, have someone available for when Kane inevitably gets injured, and have someone ready for the PL when we eventually sell him.

We spent 55m on Ndombele to be fair so you never know.

Yeah and that has worked out excellently :ROFLMAO:

Our record with big-money signings is actually woeful and I wouldn't be surprised if DL has PTSD from a lot of those deals.

Everyone was creaming themselves on here when the Ndombele info came out that we were interested and cock-a-hoop when we signed him. Had we not signed him we'd be forever reminded on here about how Levy failed to get the deal done. But yeah, it must be Levy's fault he turned out to be useless

I am very impressed how you managed to infer from my post that the Ndombele deal was Levy's fault when I never even hinted that it was. All I said was DL must have PTSD from a lot of these big-money transfers that have gone wrong for us in the past.

It's not his fault at all, he did his part and put up the money - it was the fault of the scouting team/Poch who obviously didn't do their due diligence on him.

But let's take it to the Ndombele thread if you're keen (y)

Paratici is buying for life after Kane, not for next season, this is what the ITK appears to mean to me?

INS & OUTS LATEST
We have an established budget for our ‘INS’
It will not effect the 3-4 players we have earmarked, and advanced to bring in. For clarification, we will bring them in regardless of ‘OUTS’

OUTS-We are negotiating loan deals, more than sales. Sanchez not available. His choice! He wants to prove himself (?-Hope I have not speaky-speaky too early). Sales extremely slow! Winks has loads of interest, but refusing to even speak to potential clubs, as he wants to stay until at least January, and prove himself. He has been told best he moves on. Serge, Sissoko slow interest. Serge likely to be ‘loaned’ if we can’t sell. It he may ‘possibly’ prove difficult. Sissoko top pro, and loved by all, though he wants new pastures. If does not happen he will be too pro about it.

All main action next week, as for other PL clubs.

Hopefully the reality will dawn on Winks when he continues watching games from the sidelines and Skipp plays etc Mad he's risking not playing in a world cup year, (i mean he has no chance but surely he will think he does) Suggests he has a very high opinion of himself and thinks he is better than he is.

It's a shame that we haven't been able to do more in terms of incomings a little earlier. I understand that a combination of all the summer tournaments and a million other reasons have complicated things and it's definitely easier said than done, but I would've felt more comfortable if we'd had another attack-minded player sorted by now. The emergence of Tanganga, Skipp, and Sanchez & Dier maybe not being totally useless makes me feel fine elsewhere for the moment.

You have to now leave him out of the conference games aswell for him to realise he needs to move.
