No we haven't, every big sale (bar Berbatov) has never been a much of a public shit show as this. And its entirely down to the Kane's, I don't even really blame City, they have clearly been spouted bollox to by those two helmets as well
I’m not talking about that.

What I’m talking about is the early summer positive ITK, which gets less positive the closer the season gets.

Season starts, we’re miles short squad wise, expectations are lessened in terms of incomings and we get nowhere near what was originally forecast and anticipated.

Every single year. And the bullshit about incomings not being dependent on HK etc. Well why the fuck is nobody in. Not doubting ITK as it is in good faith but surely even the ITK’s can see this bullshit pattern that happens every single summer without fail?

We’ve signed well so far but we’ve gone backwards in terms of the squad now from the final day of last season.

Not sure about that from what I can gather we are all still hearing exactly the same as we were weeks ago. I don't think its that the information that is less positive, more your willingness to accept it has lessened as it's not been done quickly enough for your liking.

4 more in 5 if Kane goes.

Let’s hope for some outs on top of that.

Makes you question the point of having a transfer window that stays open for so long, when most deals are pushed through towards the deadline. Opening the window in June for a couple of weeks would put the wind up all clubs. We all know that “negotiations” (cough cough) take place with agents and players behind closed doors all season long, it’s only the process of agreeing fees and structures with clubs that would really take place during the window.

That's fine if the same TW was set around the world.

Look at the fuck up it caused when Europe was later than ours.

Yeah, that was a massive error by the Premier League but having a window only operational during June or July would prevent any issues with leagues across Europe starting at different times. Or just a much shorter window; clubs start discussions about transfers and 8 weeks later the people in charge are still comparing dick sizes in the hope of receiving / saving a bit of money.

In our case I feel (rightly or wrongly) that we’re always hoping the selling club are getting desperate and drop the price, and during that time also save on 4-6 weeks’ worth of wages for a new player. Who cares about integrating a player into the squad and getting up to speed with the team’s style of play when you can save some money. However, having a full squad to get the best results in the first 4-5 games could be the difference between 7th and 4th place at the end of the season, which is probably worth a lot more than some saved wages.

Thanks for the reply Trix. You may well be right in that I am dampening perceived expectations of my own accord. I accept HK situation is a nuisance.

However, I’ve seen this story many times before. Of course I hope we get some good caliber of guys in, but we nearly always seem to under deliver when it reaches this stage.

Thanks for your info, we all love it. COYS.

I am absolutely sure it has been said on quite a few occasions by multiple ITK's that transfers are expected to go red hot in the last 2 weeks of the window due to the lack of money in all leagues except the EPL, there is no need to panic, in an ideal world of course it would be better to get the transfers sorted before the season opener but we don't live in an ideal world, i'm not panicking at all with the "Deadwood" on the basis that i feel they will be moved on 100% by the end of the window purely because clubs panic buy as it gets closer to the deadline and the likes of Aurier, CCV and Winks can do a job at a lot of clubs so i expect a lot of deadline day outgoings to happen.
If a player doesn't want to leave then that is different as they have a contract but it is a world cup year so if they have ambition and been told they won't feature much at the club then I'm sure common sense will prevail.

That was always going to happen. Every club are still ironing out their finances and playing games of chess with their players.
IIRC - ITK and journals pointed towards last week as being a busy week too.

What concerns me is how long it gives us to finish our deals. Vlahovic and Lautoro both looked like they were in good positions to be bought last week, but now both look less likely to be at Spurs.

Lol this is amazing. The world truly has gone nuts! Also if City bid anywhere near that then it makes even more of a mockery of their current attempts to get Kane (proven EPL player, country captain, multiple golden boot winner, top assister in arguably one of the hardest leagues in the world, 3 years left on his contract) for only £125m ish.
