I'm not overly keen on the idea of Traore if I'm honest, but it's hardly unusual for a new manager to move for one of his players from his last club. To have someone out on the pitch he knows well and to help other players adapt to how he wants to play.

I'm concerned regarding his lack of end product but at the same time he looked dangerous today, and did create some good chances that weren't taken by others.

Herc has been saying for a while this was the one Nuno wanted to bring with him and it looks very much like we have a strong interest. I can only see this being a goer at the right price, and I don't see why Wolves wouldn't put a sizable price tag on what is clearly a fans favourite. Tbh I only see this happening if Mendes pulls some strings.

I think it's fairly obvious City will be back in for Kane. If we do end up selling him this week, we are pretty fucked. I was fine with him going when we were linked to players like Martinez, and Vlahovic but, if we end up signing Traore and Eduard and sell Kane, hello midtable.

Traore. LOL. That’s the best we can come up with. Nuno masterclass continues. I think that’d be me pretty much done for this season. Transfer windows never cease to amaze. Just when you think they’ve given you the most comprehensive beating possible, from belief to hope to despair to recognition, a jab comes in and discovers a completely new organ to batter.
Have to say, this post has confused me A LOT!

Nuno masterclass continues?! The guy has been a breath of fresh air, has dealt with the difficult situations very well and has started with two wins from two.

Saying that would be you done for the season is quite frankly shocking in my opinion, just get behind the new manager and the team for christ sake.

Also, the window has been fine so far and will get better with a few more additions.

Sitting here slightly puzzled by your post if I'm being truthful.

Guedes to Wolves
Traore to Spurs

Mendes = Happy

completely agree, if it was the 100m sprint and not football I’d be all over it, Tajts all he is a sprinter!
Come on. I mean I'm not keen but I can see he has great feet and a very good change of direction at speed. His shooting is woeful but his crosses were all going into dangerous areas.

valenciayid regarding what he said a week ago:“Big week coming”…and it was specifically regarding H and a renewed bid from City…im still not convinced we’ve seen the end of this

Thanks Dov. Think it's good to put this in context as he was responding to some posts criticising him, hence "big week coming" being in speech marks. Think that week has been and gone with the increased Kane bid that already happened. Obviously the next bit is new info (y)

We've done pretty well without Kane so far, never mind with replacements.

You must post a variation of this, half a dozen times, in different threads, every day.

Nothing to do with Kane. We actually needed a traore, or a playmaker or some kind. It wasn't about finishing.

So, in theory, not really a relevant point.

I'm in the camp where I think Traore offers something we lack.
It was everything about Kane. We had no outlet that was capable of receiving the ball and keeping it. Keep it and drawing fouls is part of avoiding a hard press. We just kept giving it back to them

Its probably based mainly off todays performance which for me was worrying. Yes we may have won but its not good enough to just sit and defend and hope to counter attack.

We clearly need investment in the right areas and i think we need at least 2 midfielders that can keep the ball and move it forward and I would make them more of a priority than Traore.

Yeah, I’m slightly pissed off hence the tone, which I’ve generally been pretty good at avoiding here lol. It’s last week of teh window though and after today’s performance cut me some slack with venting. I’m watching the team I’ve supported for forty years, post mourinho, with Doherty Davies Dier dele winks Sissoko Etc in the squad. I’ve got ptsd from watching them play hunt the circle. And today i got flashbacks of us when I was 14, dean austin nethercott et al, or so and we ended up near the relegation spots, in terms of quality, players, and tactics/organisation. Discounting new signings, I realised there’s genuinely only 4 players in our squad I like and rate as footballers.

im Not going to comment on Nuno, I’ve been cautiously positive about him due to my memories of how good wolves were against us, even while others were going nuts at his appointment. But today was beyond woeful, and very occasional bitching is my fee for the 40 years. So I bit a little.

I guess Traore hit a sore spot. And that is 100% down to nuno. No chance we go for him otherwise IMO - and I don’t think we’ll find ourselves with much competition. There’s an entire planet full of players out there so I think what‘s got me is more how depressingly limited in vision it is when your club are thinking of chucking what would be a very large amount of limited funds on a guy who has run into dead ends for his entire career, just because there’s a previosu club connection. I don’t believe anyone one in their right mind would feel happy at getting Traore at teh expense of a Damsgaard for example. And as fans we have our faces lifted skywards to look at what’s possible, then dragged back down to the rocky earth of that kind of small town thinking.

I’m obviously not done with the team really, I’ll never be done with this bloody team. I will be taking a break if we add to the monumental pile of deadwood we have already with guys like Traore though. And that break will be 6 days. Sigh.

But do we have shirts that will fit?

I dont know whether it was Herc or Trix that was massively against the appointment of Nuno because of the Mendes connection. Now with this Adama link I can really see why. How can we really know if Nuno wants him or not ? When we here that Nuno really wants someone and that first player just happends to be a Mendes player, does that not raise suspicion ? for me it does.

Sure I dont rate Adama as a player, but just for the reason stated im massively against it, I support Nuno 100% but #NoToMendes!

I really hope this doesn't happen. yes he terrorises defences but today showed the same as I've always felt "no end product". he wasn't close to an assist, and with his 2 best efforts 1 went out for a throwing, the other with his pace he would have been better trying to go round the keeper which either results in a goal or poss pen and red card.

Jimenez had a shot from his pull back that went an inch over the bar is that not close to an assist? he also had numerous other occasions that lead to shots seriously if you don't like him fine but at least give him credit where its due.

I thought he was fantastic today but that wouldnt have been his assist fyi. Traore cut it back to a different player who backheeled it to Jimenez who then put it over the bar.

I'm not really for or against signing Traore but his profile as a player is close to perfect for breaking out of lower blocks and opening up the game like today.
