The England midfielder, 25, had been left in the wilderness under former boss Jose Mourinho and feared having to move on to get first team football.

He did ok in the piss pot cup last week. If that's the level we keep him playing at and the odd cameo to rest players, I can just about get on board with it. (for a season)

Yeah, but if he stops the opportunities of younger players to get minutes in cup matches it will be negative. I dunno- he wants to fight for his place and is a Spurs lad- but it was time he moved this window

Sanchez and Dier have looked like completely different players under Nuno. People were desperate to get rid of them but Nuno seems to have boosted their confidence after the 18 months of constant pressure Mourinho created for them. Winks, under Mourinho, was constantly played in a deep position where he didn't have the skillset. Under Nuno, he looked like a far more progressive passer in a CM3 in the pre season games. I'm not the least bit surprised he was pissed off playing under Mourinho's system and see no reason why he shouldn't get a chance to re-invent himself the same way as Dier and Sanchez have.

Absolutely nothing bad about that at all. Right attitude and if he's played and coached correctly no reason why he can't feature more. If the likes of Serge, Tanguy had the same attitude spurs would be a better team.

The ECL is a great opportunity for players to get some game time. If Winks plays in this and makes an occasional sub appearance then fair enough.

Either he shows he has a future here, which I personally doubt, or he realises in a year that he doesn’t and might do enough to get himself a move to a decent enough side to tempt him to make the move.

True, I’d like to see Harvey White given some opportunities as well.

If he plays well enough he'll be be knocking on the door for a place in the team, I know most of you don't like Winks and absolutely cannot stand the site of him being in the team but if he gets his head down and works hard and take his opportunities then he's going to push which is absolutely the way it should be.

It's what he does. Let's revisit this in 1 month's time.

At his best he can move the ball quickly, between the lines and drive forward.
With lack of CM options we have i can see him getting chances in games where PEH and Skipp are huffing and puffing...

while i'm not the biggest fan primarily because of the antics behind the scene, there are cases where people turn over a new leaf. In Harry's case, i'm skeptical that he has the talent to do it much less the attitude (team first vs me first). But if Nuno thinks it's worth a try, then it makes sense to suspend the disbelief.

I always find it weird that a grown man can have such dislike for another grown man they know nothing about, fully going out of their way to put another man down at any opportunity.

You got people talking about "behind-the-scenes" ? what behind-the-scenes antics did you hear in the salon.

It's too secret to be spoken about or put out for public consumption but bad enough for many people to label Winks a **** for it (even though they don't know what it is).
