I saw a lot of positives today under the circumstances. Bad day at the office - move on.
Honestly, the only positive point was Tanganga taking down Zaha when Lucas was on the ground. Rodon also did well overall. Otherwise nothing. Offensively we seem to be worse off than in Mourinho's time and that's scary. I agree that the absences of several starting players were sorely missed, but it is still unacceptable to lose the way we lost and never have given the impression that it would be any result other than this one.

if you think that starting 11 and this squad is up for anything else than pretty poor football and a 7-9th place finish I think it’s a distinct lack of self awareness to be honest. Take a look through the line up again, without Spurs tinted spectacles on and take a look at the subs. Not sure you can make another case if you’re being honest with yourself.
But the team we put out is not our strongest XI due to a number of reasons: injuries, politics & manager choices. Levy didn’t pick the team today and, even with those missing, it’s unforgivable that we’re losing 3-0.

We have 3 more points than i expected, we play as bad as i expected. Nuno was and continues to be too pragmatic, his team's are so rigid, he doesn't allow any kind of freedom, and doesnt know how to control a game to save his life. Hope he proves me wrong, but its so hard when you see him repeating the same mistake with his previous teams.

Who would you have played under the circumstances then? Tanguy wasn't going to start. Rodon wasn't going to start. The only change I may have made was Gil for Winks and have Dele in the midfield three. But that doesn't do anything to help Skipp coming off an injury midweek.

I think the Skipp injury is largely irrelevant, he's either fit or he isn't. The change of Gill in immediately makes us more balanced and pushes us up the pitch. We got so lucky to get to ht 0-0 and why that sub didn't have the trigger pulled I don't know.

Unproven my ass, I saw enough of him in that last game he played for us in Europe to know that he was better than most of those that played today.

Nuno wont last the season, calling it now
This is a sure bet!
More cowardly than the Zagreb game & i don't even care if you disagree. Atleast in that game we showed an attacking intent.
This was 90 mins of pure anti football.
anti football… against CRYSTAL PALACE! Absolutely disgraceful stuff, first goal attempt around 50th minute. And Nuno said he was going to make us proud?

We’re not ‘shit’… lose your first choice centre back partnership, not have your record signing centre back available, no Lo Celso either and then lose two of your arguably first choice wide forwards to injury, plus Sessegnon’s injured and Emerson who’s just arrived having to make his debut against Zaha of all people… this will have a massive impact any team. Add getting a player sent off, a disinterested Kane and your so called star midfielder in Ndombele being unfit and wanting to leave.

Nuno was always a short term stopgap until Poch was available again IMHO.

Don’t think he’ll make it that far.
THIS is my dream. I can't see a way forward for us until Poch either comes back, or (more likely) has a clear and simple opportunity to return and chooses not to.

I dealt with the Nuno appointment as a 2 year at most but instantly sackable stop gap, its the only reason i am currently not raging as much as i could be.

What a miss Conte was, dear oh deary me. If he really indicated a willingness to come here you just find a way to make that work Daniel, you just do. Worst case it would have given you another 5-10yrs credit in the bank with the fans.

I don't understand that first paragraph. The reason(s) that we were second best throughout is everything you mentioned in the previous sentence, so it's not kiddin ourselves at all.
We struggled to string consecutive passes together, were ultra ultra narrow and so cutting down our options, barely created any chances, and in general showed a severe lack of quality, plan, everything. Not for the first game either, just the difference today was we didn't ever look like scrapping our way to a result because we weren't working hard either.

Even if we had to send out the Under 12's team I'd expect a hint of a plan of what we're doing, evidence of constructing proper attacks, a balanced lineup etc. It was completely unacceptable, multiple setbacks or not.

The Levy hate in this thread is genuinely so childish.

Levy didn’t choose Nuno, he didn’t choose the team today. He wasn’t responsible for 6 of our first team players being unavailable today.

Hate on him in the transfer window all you like but the team we put out today was still more than capable of winning and not being on the back end of a 3-0 loss.
Are you kidding???

All of this started with him!!

Paratici, Nuno and co are coming in and trying to fix a mess completely out of his doing.

Because he felt the squad was good enough and decided Jose was the man to get the best out of them rather than listening to Poch and starting the rebuild, we have ended up being stuck with the likes of Dier, Davies, Winks and co to somehow get us back in the CL.
