I think but am not sure, the commentators said VAR couldn't get involved because the referee had seen it and dished out a yellow card. So there's two issues here. Did I hear that correctly and if so, were they right.
I can only think that the VAR stepped in in the Robertson incident and not the Kane one because the replays showed an intent from Robertson that the ref couldn’t have seen in real time.nope, he dished out a yellow for Robertson's assault - lets be honest here he went and and violently kicked Royal - he want even thinking of going for the ball.
Kane was going for the ball albeit wildly out of control.
VAR can step in at anytime if they think ref has missed something.
But both should have been red cards.
Came into the thread to pick up that - from the snippet of radio I’ve heard this morning - there is already the narrative building that Liverpool were decimated by Covid etc. Danny Murphy specifically highlighted Liverpool’s midfield. As usual the Liverpool ex-pros and writers are demonstrating just how ignorant they are to every other team’s set up and circumstances. Our starting XI was nothing like our strongest - especially in midfield.
