Poor teams signing a certain calibre of player is not any other team signing the “quality additions” you speak of.

Some perspective is required.

coutinho & digne immediately improve our team, whilst bentacur is 100% a better player than amrabaat.

It's after the window has shut. As it's always been. And I will be there with you, if the current situation remains.

No you won't. Like last summer, you'll disappear and return in the following transfer window to talk down on posters who are rightfully concerned if we haven't done enough business or if there's gaping holes in our squad.

You'll say all window to wait till the end and then when things don't come to pass you'll say it doesn't make any sense complaining as the window has closed - in the most condescending manner possible.

I really used to like your posts but somewhere along the line you became a pretentious prick who talks down on others constantly while trying to shut down any opinion or viewpoint that doesn't align with yours.

I don't usually go after anyone personally but you really have become unbearable.

Did he? Is this in his thread somewhere and I've missed it? Don't post in here if that's the case just let me know if I need to look back through his thread for it(y)

A very quick google says this might be the case, I haven't looked properly though.

There are a few articles linking him to Inter in the January window of Conte's first season there when Amrabat was impressing at Hellas Verona. Some articles that say Inter made him an offer for him. All seem to be pretty dodgy news sources, although apparently Di Marzio reported Inter had a meeting with Hellas Verona about setting up a deal for him.

Certainly implies that he's a player Conte is well aware of and has considered in the past as an option.
Thanks mate, makes a bit more sense than "he's just available and being offered to us".

Conte didn't want Coutinho - we don't want more players that our manager doesn't want, as we try to ship out three AMs. And Digne improves our squad; he doesn't start ahead of Reggy in my opinion.

You can see a clear case for not wanting to throw money at those players and those positions for the sake of JUST SIGNING SOMEONE ANYONE.

I admit I know nothing about the other two.

maybe not, but he pushes reggy for a starting space, and comes in when he loses form., plus it means doherty never plays lwb again.

Had COVID. Daughter (now 13 months old) got it. In hospital with daughter. House purchase fell through at last minute. Sold our house anyway. Wife then in hospital with suspected sepsis but just horrific kidney infection. Had to take a week off my unbelievably time consuming job. That's my September for you since you asked.

But sure, was much more important to post on an internet forum about Spurs being shit in a transfer window.

Cheers.

Can't wait for Conte and FP to walk when Levy doesn't back them in the summer, either.

i mean would that be the worse thing in the world to happen? his strike rate is poor! look at the manager debacle, then hi summer signings have hardly set the world alight, whilst we still appear to be struggling to offloads players.

Haven't we heard from a few different people that we are looking at deals in the summer (possibly due to contracts running down?)

We need to get players off the book that Conte does not rate, if we have to wait until the summer, then we need to bring players in on loan.

Send them back at the end of the season and move for the players Conte wants.

Truth is and it has been said already, if we fail in the summer to bring in some good signings then yes Conte will walk. Levy will know that is it for him and ultimately there will be no option but go
Little Levy still have another card to play

Pochettino part 2

And people here will lap it up

Telling someone they talk down to posters by talking down to someone about their opinion, and resorting to name calling, but I'm sure the hypocrisy is lost on you.

Having rationalised this it really isnt that bad at all

Getting someone in on a 6 month loan who would be a decent addition to the SQUAD i.e. better than Ndombele of GLC, on the basis that the players we actually want long term could be brought in for next season.

I'm sure its been mentioned a few times on here by ITK that next season is where things are going to kick in, being ready for NEXT season is the goal. I'm sure when he came in nobody expected us to be getting top 4 this season, the fact United and Arsenal still arent very good along with us improving more than expected has made this achievable. It would be silly to sign someone now when we can get better in the summer, we moan about rushing the wrong signings but that is exactly what some are demanding - if you cant get players then dont just sign anyone.... BUT I WANT SIGNINGS.... Kessie being the best example, if he wants to come, on a free, but not until the summer, why the hell would you sign someone for that half a season when he isnt going to be wanted after that. Plus clubs arent exactly going to loan out their best players half way through a season just for shits and giggles, itll be a case for settling for who is available.

I think with Romero and Dier coming back and Traore and Son added to our attack our 1st XI is pretty strong, the problem is behind that. But we have no Europe so hopefully that can be managed and by bringing in a player or two on a 6 month loan who actually might come off the bench and bust a gut to impress Conte, might work out ok.

Top 4 this season would have been a huge bonus for Conte when he came in this season, it was always about next season with him.

Exactly this.

The key is to see how our squad looks at the start of next season not after this Jan. And people comparing to Villa and their signings is completely pointless, very different situations and squad needs.

FP & AC will have a plan they will be executing on as best they can this Jan and then as you say mate they will be looking at deals in summer with a ton of top players contracts running down.

Amrabat if he signs will likely be a short-term loan to give us an extra body whilst enabling us to get rid of high earners in TN,GLC and DA, tie us through until summer where we will do the majority of our business and I expect a pretty big overhaul with possibly 5-6 new signings for Conte.

People need a bit of perspective and patience but seems like that is impossible in this day and age.

Glad your wife got through the kidney infection. They can be a bitch to deal with (the infection, not the wife)!

And glad all well now.

Coutinho would not work in Conte's system, he doesn't work hard enough off the ball nor is he any good in the middle of the field.

We have two left backs at the club already - so Digne is pointless.

Bentacur would be a stop-gap but a permanent one so makes no sense.
