Does anyone check any of the Liverpool ITK? Apparently they have a holy trinity of peeps who can be relied upon (they used to anyway). Did they see this coming, I wonder?

You could make a fair bit of moolah being an aggregator for reliable ITK I shouldn't wonder.

This is the fallout from not investing and pushing on after the CL final defeat.
We could have become one of the big boys, picking up top notch players.
Instead we do all the leg work, finding out acceptable transfer fees for other clubs and letting them swoop in and complete the deal.
Joke of a club…
we did invest at that pointwe invested over 100m in two midfielders... both turned out to be the worst signings in the clubs history. The problem was the prior 18 months of stagnation.

No. In the same way they don't check ours.

Twitter has made it worse, but it's ultimately a Spurs echo chamber which when put against the Football Twitterverse is a dot. Again, this probably hasn't scratched the surface of other football fans. I've certainly got no abuse yet, and my mates are usually the first to pull the trigger. ****s.

No, apparently Trix was frustrated with all the negativity and has posted on one of the player threads “see you Tuesday “ and I don’t blame him one bit.

The behaviour and attitudes on here has basically driven away ITK. Reap what you sow, people.

Who can blame him. If I was ITK I wouldn't come near this or any other thread today or before the window ends unless we actually sign a good player. People are pissed and looking to vent and even though ITKs have no nothing to do with our transfers they can wrongly be perceived to be closer to it than us, even though they aren't.

based on the last few years, we should wait and see who Leicester and Villa are after and then come in late as their version of Liverpool and Barca. Save a lot of time and effort with likely better outcome!

Don't you remember Liverpool fans saying "get your own scouts" a while ago? Was for Gylfi wasn't it?

Oh how the turntables.

although the most likely clearing out will only be for a few months and they will likely be back with us in July needing to be cleared out again before we can 'hit the summer market '

Possibly but at least we'll have more time to get some real business done. This window, we've only got 4 weeks.

I know some will disagree, but the leaks (ITK) don’t really help the situation. Although we like them, once it’s out in public then it’s fair game. People like Fabrizio are killing clubs like us. This will continue to be the case.
I can't imagine it makes any difference. All it does is let fans know what clubs and agents already know. If anything it just gives fans more opportunities to take the piss out of rival fans when things go tits up, just like today and the WhatsApp messages I'm expecting :(

Given we have no ITK’s posting in here should we now rename the thread ITD (in the dark) - it has a nice double meaning as well for most in here!

Worrying how seemingly naive our dealings with Mendes have been, playing us as fools to get his clients better deals/moves to other clubs, and we seem to be dancing to his tune but getting nothing in return

I really hope I regret writing this in a few days time, but I'm going to call it how I see it.

This is starting to resemble a Shakespearean tragedy. Daniel Levy, much maligned, finally does what every one tells him to do and steps back from the footballing decisions. Heralded by his mole, Romario, in rides the great Paratici.

As it happens, Paratici has a relationship with Conte, probably the greatest manager alive, and somehow, miraculously, he persuades Conte to join. This was, and will always be, Paratici's greatest coup and also the core of this tragedy. Because if Conte doesn't work out, it will be down to Paratici himself.

And the problem is, I very much suspect that Paratici is completely the wrong man for the job. Everything he has done so far, aside from Conte, would at least hint at that.

Let's be clear, the summer shenanigans with the managerial roundabout had Paratici written all over it. And Mendes...

Gattuso, Nuno?!?!? Really!! Now what (or who) is the common link there? Well it sure as hell ain't the good old Spurs DNA

In the summer Adama Traore becomes the latest client of Mendes and around this time, coincidently, he also becomes Nuno's prime target. You know, the player we simply have to buy to show we are supporting our 117th choice manager. Traore is the sort of player who is incredibly exciting to anyone who doesn't watch him. He is a freak of nature, can swat aside any opposition, and would be an absolute world beater if he could play football.

Paratici is very keen to allocate over 40 million of our summer budget on Mendes' newest client, but Levy, at this stage likely starting to get that twitchy feeling of just who the hell have I let into my kitchen, steps in to pull the plug on that particular deal. We are furious, obviously.

It's no problem though - for Mendes at least - because as luck would have it, Traore just happens to also be the one player our next manager needs to show that we are backing him. This is because Conte has a problem in that none of his right wing backs can cross the ball. So naturally Traore will be the perfect acquistion, because although he really can't cross a ball, he played RWB once (although he was certainly second choice to our current RWB who we can't get rid off fast enough. Another Mendes client actually, funnily enough....)

Unfortunately for Paratici, Mendes learns he can actually make more money by selling Traore to Barcelona who aren't allowed to register him. So he pulls the rug from underneath Paratici at the last moment. What are friends for and all that. But actually don't worry Fab, I'll make it up to you, reassures our super agent, by brokering a better deal with Luis Diaz "you know nothing gets done in Portugal without me...."

Nothing in Paratici's past suggests that he is anything more than a wheeler dealer, IMO, he's Harry Rednapp in a suit, just with a larger phone bill and a smaller car window. That can work if you are sitting at the top of the food chain, like Juventus. At Spurs we are going to need a bit more savvy and a bit less Mendes.

In my opinion Conte is not calling the shots on incomings, he doesn't have time. He is an absolute workaholic who is giving every second to getting the best out of his players. He will have said who needs to go and therefore who needs to be replaced, and I am sure he will be sounded out on particular prospects, but it is not his job to scout. He will expect that the players he gets are up to the task and he will go cataclysmic if the club lets him down on rebuilding the squad.

so Paratici is the key link and right now the weakest link. It's time for him to start realising that this isn't going to be easy, it will take proper scouting processes and networks, it will not work out well if he keeps relying on the likes of Mendes and the players he happens to know personally - you can only pull out the odd Romero - and it will not work out well if he doesn't learn all this pretty damn quick.

As I say, that's how I see it, and I REALLY hope to have egg on my face come Tuesday

I think the genuine worry people have over this window is exacerbated by the shut down of leaks from the club. It’s (per Paul O’Keefe) a deliberate intention from Spurs to do so. That feeling of not knowing what’s happening, or what the overall strategy or plan is, makes it hard to interpret what we’re doing. Also makes things like the Traore mess hard to understand (did we want him? Did conte not fancy him? Was he a last minute “it’ll do” we had up our sleeves?)

We all love the ITK provided but we’ve seen since Paratici has come in, that a fair few deals whether completed or not, we’ve had not even a sniff of. I think this clampdown has made it unjustly and unfortunately toxic for those providing ITK, as people are so starved to see the “big picture” that any ITK is picked to death and treated as absolute gospel. That’s not fair on them. They are just passing on info in good faith, and unless their info comes from Paratici himself, people can’t be annoyed if whatever they pass on doesn’t happen exactly. I think sometimes the ITKs get the brunt of peoples frustrations when they are just trying to help provide some clarity into the clubs plans. They are fans like the rest of us.

Reckon we all just need to be a bit calmer, I know it’s easier said than done, I was annoyed to wake up to the Diaz to pool news also, but I’m sure if come Feb 1st we have only Amrabat in, we will all have ample opportunity to vent about Levy/ENIC/Paratici in their appropriate threads!

The players all have ability, I'm pretty confident clubs will like what they see.

Hang on it’s been the sa,e story for the last 10 years and you are blaming the new guy!

It’s simple haggle yes, but pay the last little bit quickly, don’t mess about the people you are buying from.

We string it out to long try to be clever and mess clubs about, would you want to do business with spurs?

And that's true but those people have a point due to previous failings and the fact that 27 days in we have seen zero movement in what everyone thought was a crucial window.

Of course we should all calm down and wait and see but truthfully I'm only calm because I've seen it all before. I have zero faith in them turning this window around .

Hope I'm wrong as I'd love some good news, bloody need it right now.
because trix mentioned that the key window is the summer window
