Just a suggestion for the mods (I can't put this in the ITK thread as I'm banned, the irony I know) but I wonder if it's possible to put a warning up on the screen when someone does click into the thread to warn that posts about anything unrelated to ITK will not be accepted that people have to "ok" before they post.

Although I'm banned myself I'm still grateful I'm able to read the thread but even that's an effort at the moment.

Funny how Liverpool’s recent success has come from signings that Michael Edwards was involved in as sporting director. Can anyone remember why he left us in the first place?
I see he’s off at the end of the season as well…

Why did Alex Inglethorpe leave us to go there?

Paul Mitchell - now at Monaco after leaving us having spent 2 yrs at RB Leipzig.

These three left us and have done really well, quite clearly talented guys so it begs the question why did they leave? Were they not backed by ENIC?
Were they not allowed to do their job without other people at the club interfering and just got to the stage where they’d had enough?

How often have we got business done early in the last ten years? As I’m typing this I’m just thinking that there is massive pattern here and it’s history repeating itself year after year. There can only be one person to blame in all of this and it’s an institutional problem that won’t solve itself.
No doubt FP will cotton on soon enough and walk as well and who could blame him.

I don't for a second think that Mr Levy believes that he cannot have a successful team in the new stadium competing. Not for one second. I disagree with many who question his ambition because I don't see it. What I do see is a problem with the plan.

The thing is we are two decades into the plan with not a great deal to show for it

Seriously wonder do ENIC know how angry the fans are or are they just burying their heads in the sand?
We will get the usual spin about being tough to buy players in January and the summer will be different.
Sad thing is gullable fans like myself will calm down in few weeks and will go through the same scenario in the summer and be hurt again.

Agreed. That's the point. We were a fag paper away from true eliteness a few years back. That is and was the seminal moment. Getting back there will be so so tough.

I hate this chairman and owner so much. Thanks for failing to push us on when ready to.

The only time ENIC press the panic button and invest heavily in the squad, is when we veer too close to the bottom of the PL, or even out of the top 6 or 7 places.

Its clear to me that serious investment in the playing squad will never happen.
As long as the TV money, matchday money, and sponsorship/partnership deals keep on rolling in, there's no need to over spend, irrespective of what us fans want.

I'm sick of our near misses in windows and would ultimately like more proactive ownership this emerging narrative I'm seeing (not specifically on SC but on social media in general) that we are one of the worst run clubs in England or even the worst is just embarrassing. Important to have some perspective, seriously.

Proveably false.

We have spent big sums on players in multiple transfer windows, none of which we were remotely close to bottom of the PL

Yeah definitely nothing to show from it ?

Best training facilities and stadium maybe in the world, CL final plus now pretty much a mainstay in the top 6 teams in the entire country with European competition every year.

Perspective needed brother.

we won't always have the best training ground, Leicester and others are building equivalents and the same will happen with the stadium. I'm proud of both but I don't support buildings I support a football team and the investment on the pitch has been poor.

unless we get our act together we can say goodbye to the mainstay in the top six position everyone is so happy with. We have no plan on the football side so that's why we are upset. We want to win, not show off amazing facilities

When were we a fag packet away from 'true eliteness'?

So we do have things to show for it, just not the things we want in this moment.

For me there seems to be a plan emerging on the football side.

Fab Romano has just stated that we're not even ready to press the button on Amrabat because the club is waiting to complete some outgoings first.

Same shit, different window.

p.s He also said that other clubs are starting to sniff around Amrabat now.
