People are getting sucked into Matt Law’s article. The guy hates Tottenham and never has anything positive to say about us.

The fact remains that Hitchen has done a horrid job at Tottenham. He’s wasted millions and millions of pounds and his resignation should be seen as something to celebrate, not cry over.
The '100 years of experience' angle is so weird. He doesn't even try to hide his bias.

This feels like a bad thing. All reports (except for that stupid documentary), said he was extremely competent and knowledgeable. Worrying.

agree, pretty sure JJ has said multiple times how good he is, even if the amazon doc painted him to be a bozo.

Good luck to him. Exciting opportunity for someone if we decide to directly replace his position.

Sad but it was coming. He's far better than he's both given credit for, and also than we've used him.

He is good. Never really had the power to do things he should have had. Often over ruled financially by Levy or ignored by Poch etc. He was basically bumped down the pecking order too when FP came in. Good luck to him, but I expect he already has something in the pipeline though knowing Steve.

Moura our best signing over that period, with shoutouts too for Hojbjerg & Reguilon. But overall hardly a glowing record and this is a natural move post Paratici’s arrival. The Law piece reflects his growing bias against club, evident also in his Dele to Everton coverage. It could be, in any case, that he’s just lost his biggest source for Spurs stories.

Fantastic.

The club's recruitment has been so poor ever since he took over from Mitchell.
It's hard to know who were his targets. Ndombele and GLC were Poch picks. You'd think he had a say in buys like Aurier, Llorente, Sanchez, Bergwijn, Rodon, Reguilon, Lucas etc. Mixed level of success in those.

Hitchen's replacement.

I think he probably made some good recommendations but for one reason or another, whether that's manager preference or Levy, wasn't listened to.

Our recruitment hasn't been good enough for a while, and to be honest, I didn't expect him to stay long once Paratici was brought in.

Exactly, someone needs to pull up all his signings. Terrible!

Seems he was highly regarded and well liked but our main signings from lower leagues, which are the easiest ones to judge him on have been wank.

Clarke looks like a huge waste of money and even Leeds fans thought we were mad to pay that for him after like 7 good performances, while Rodon seems like a decent enough player but has been disregarded by about 4 managers and seems a largely pointless signing.

Unless Alfie Devine turns into the next Hoddle, his legacy is largely a barrel full of turds.

and sessegnon has done nothing to justify his transfer price so far

‘At different times, Hitchen negotiated deals for Bruno Fernandes, Paulo Dybala, Jack Grealish and James Ward-Prowse only for the club to back out of completing the transfers over financial issues.’
