Thanks for that tonight @goughie1966

Really good to read their delusional ramblings. A lot of them come across as so bloody entitled, so much so that I can't tell if they're on the wind-up about how magical the club is. I suppose we've all got fans like that, but crikey they haven't yet developed the necessary gallows humour of the once mighty but now 2nd/3rd tier European makeweights.

And wow, that SA_Gunner, what a pillock.

It was some rollercoaster thought wasn't it? They were 6 points ahead, game in hand had +7 goal difference. Remarkably we over turned that and then managed to lose against Brighton and draw with Brentford only for them to blow it again against us and Newcastle. I know many of us were saying it's all over, no it's back on again to all over again in our own race for top 4. And for once we weren't the Spursy ones!

I do find it funny reading things back. We went to Newcastle as the first visitors following their takeover and won. They went to their final home game of the season and lost. We went to Anfield and drew (should have won). They got battered (just like everywhere they go).

Morons.

This is a must watch grilling of Arsenal for 11 minutes from WUM Durham ? ? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Well well well. I've never listened to Dunham, because people are always complaining about him and his anti-Spurs ramblings...so that's the first time, but it's actually Andy Townsend who's the prize knobhead in that clip. What an idiot and an apologist for the gooner scum.

Beautiful stuff that somer of them spent weeks and weeks knowing that it was nailed on, only to watch it slowly turn to dust in their hands. A cautionary read if ever there was one!

'Project'

I feel that this word is so often overused in football and Arsenal fans have fallen for it, hook, line and sinker.

Sometimes 'project' is often used because the club either can't or don't want to go down the route of bringing in an elite coach who is demanding because they know they have no intention to support them the way they need to be.

The way we hired Nuno and put that spin out at the beginning of the season has similar vibes. Whilst I do think the circumstances were different, I highly doubt Levy and FP had Nuno as a top choice - but they were backed down that route a little at least - so at least it was not a primary intention like Arsenal.

I also feel that clubs often use the word 'project' when they actually don't know what to do.

It often has a time frame attached to it of 5 years, which is nonsense.

You should be hiring a coach who fits your short to mid-term goals with the hope you come out of that period in a great position.

Football changes so fast for these 5 year projects to work.

Klopp was hired, not just because Liverpool felt he'd make the team better long term but because they felt he could achieve something within a couple of years.

He wasn't hired because they felt by year 5, he'd finally win a trophy. What's the point of that?

We hired Poch because we had a short to mid term goal of getting back into the CL with the belief we could challenge for titles later in the project once the stadium was done. We ended up fighting for titles earlier than that but crashed before we got to year 5, which shows you that it doesn't work as planned.

Your 'project' needs to be firing within the first 3 years.

This is the big mistake Arsenal are making. This isnt a gradual step by step progression. You don't go 8th, 8th, 5th, 4th, champions. You don't take into account the progression of others teams, players refusing to sign on when they realise the project is too long.....we realised pretty quickly with Poch that players lost faith and wanted to jump ship because even 3 years is a long time in football.

This is why I believe they made it all up relatively on the spot. The Kroenkes didn't want to pay for an elite manager, they chose the cheapest possible option based on nothing but an interview and reports about Arteta's coaching methods. Nothing about whether he could win or not.

So they stuck 'project' on it, to convince the Arsenal fans that they knew what they were doing.

Arteta didn't go there with the idea of building a young team. He had a team full of internationals. He went there with his ego and started kicking any player out who challenged him. The young players came in as a consequence to that.

That's why I think they are winging it. And their fans are lapping it all up.

I've no sympathy at all.

Honestly the arrogance that the vast majority of them showed in the run in was staggering.

Arsemania - Race for top 4

Spurs beat Arsenal
  • So, we're doing our usual. Win a load of games & then press the self destruct button. Sp**s have Burnley at home & Norwich away & you have to say you fancy them winning both. Burnley still fighting so might spring a suprise, but Norwich are just whipping boys right now. We have a buoyant Newcastle side away & a resurgent Everton at home. Not feeling good about this.
  • If we can't beat Newcastle and Everton, we don't deserve Top 4 anyway. Tonight hurts, but changes very little...just win the last 2 games, the players have done mostly well this season, I still back them.
  • This team lookl like they can't handle the pressure so I'm not sure if we can go to St. James' Park and get that W. Especially if Sp*rs already get a positive result against Burnley.
  • We finally got our Arsenal back
  • Yeah the pressure is bang on us as we have more difficult games but we can just hope Sp**s do a Sp**s & fck it up.
  • We will win both games
  • Cruicially for Sp**s they play before us.
  • Everton doesn’t matter really, be an absolute miracle if we get a win on Monday.
  • Player for player Newcastle are **** as well. Who gets in our team from their squad? Guimares and maybe ASM. They play Joelinton in midfield for **** sake. The problem with Newcastle is the crowd gives them a lift. Shut them up early and we should be alright but will our legends continue to bottle it?
  • Sp**s could easily drop points to Burnley tbh.
  • To get top 4 we need to beat the teams in 14th and 16th places in the league. Sounds simple.
  • 12 league losses this season with no European involvements, just one short of last season's record. (How much did they spend on their back 4?)
  • Newcastle just got hammered by Man City, they are going to put in a strong performance to make it right. We are going to be nervy as hell, expect the usual red card or soft pen as ref will be all out to make us drop out of top 4. It will take some serious performance and grinding out to get a win. Not too sure I'm rating our chance in this game for sure
  • It's still in our own hands but considering we tend to have **** results in a row, I don't have much confidence. Hoping Burnley do us a favor.
  • Hope we get the CL anyway, but it would be hilarious if we bottle it ngl. The stuff like extending your manager when the season isn't over yet because "he already met the targets" should be punished by the Universe.
  • Anyway. **** it. Newcastle is a hard match but it isn't Liverpool away. It's a cup final and one we need to win. Had someone given us Newcastle away to almost seal CL football we would have taken it.
  • Sp**s acting like they won league and the media pile on should be all the motivation the team needs to get over the line.
  • I'd still rather be in our position. Their win will count for nothing unless we slip. Which is highly possible but ultimately out of their hands.
Spurs beat Burnley - Arsenal lose to Newcastle
  • ****ting bricks right now. Trippier master class incoming
  • I dont think we have the mentality to get us over the line.
  • Just looked back to when Bergwin scored 2 goals against Leicester in the 95th and 97th minute. FML.
  • Kanes 95th minute winner against City straight after Mahrez equalising and City going hell for leather to get a winner. Sanchez scored like a 96th minute winner too against Watford. Hopefully we can get a winner tomorrow in similar fashion.
  • I think if we dont lose our heads we should be ok tonight. Problem however is that we have lost our heads when it mattered a little bit too much in recent times. Im going with a fast start.... we will become leggy in the second half. 2-0 to our boys tonight. (SA_Gunner returns)
  • Gutted, tbh. Just one too many injuries, and one too many mistakes from the players and manager. We go again next season, least we got 2 avenues to Champions League bas a silver lining.
  • ****e. Back to Thursday nights against Dundalk and Bate Borisov. Only to meet like Bayern/Atletico/Chelsea in the semi final and lose. This EL was **** quality and next seasons no doubt will be elite. Look forward to the ****ty signings too this summer. 6 players for 20m. Need to announce some proper signings next week after this pathetic last week.
  • All those Thursday - Sunday/Monday games again.... I'm tired robbie
  • This is the problem I have with you guys tbh. The excuses keep stacking up.
  • Think I'm reaching my breaking point. Now we're stick with a manager I hate and he's **** and we're going to give him a shed load of cash. Think I'll take a break.
  • Starting to think we’re not finishing 4th now….
  • Just grateful I got to watch Arsenal, when finishing in the Top 4, was something to be annoyed at. We have come a long way, baby
  • Btw, still a slim chance we finish 4th. We should still sack Arteta if we do
  • Fair, Sp**s could still Sp**s it. That would be pretty sweet.
  • I genuinely think these players will look different under a world class manager.
  • The question is would you rather get beat 3-0 by Real Madrid in CL or lose 1-0 to Olympiakos in the say semi final of the EL?
  • Imagine depending on Norwich ffs. It's Sp**s but i only want CL to laugh at Conte and Sp**s bottling against Norwich. But honestly we don't deserve CL the Europa League is our ceiling this season.
  • I hope one day we'll back to CL you never know there still mini mini hope. But realistically we aren't ready the team need lot more to get to that level. When a team can't beat Newcastle can't beat crystal Palace can't beat Southampton Brighton it's just safe to say CL dream might be premature
  • EL won't be any kinder. The kids get competitive minutes against plumbers only to get found out against better teams in the knockout phases.
  • Nah, it's done. Sp**s can even draw with Norwich to get 4th, that alone shows we don't deserve it.
  • Probably the best chance of getting top 4 we will have for a while. Liverpool ,City, Chelsea ahead. Sp**s in 4th will spend big and already ahead. United New manager and again will spend big. Newcastle will be throwing 200-250m at it in the summer. Big opportunity missed and one that may cost the club dearly over the next 5 years.
  • Remembering we were 4th, 6 points above Sp**s and with a game in hand only 11 games ago. Then remembering we had Chelsea away, West Ham away and Utd at home in those 11 games and won all of them.
  • Gotta give credit to Arteta for putting pressure on Don Antonio, who came midseason and did the job without spending 3 seasons to "lay the foundation for the future".
Let's leave the final word with SA_Gunner:

Nah you need to get it right mate. Don Antonio only finishes top four because Arsenal, United, West Ham, Wolves underperformed this season. He went out all cup competitions early and even ran away from a competition so that he had his one game a week. Also dont forget... after all of that happening, he still whines about not being the right man for the job, threatening to quit, right before offering his services to PSG. Lets see how he gets on when playing 2+ games a week.

It feels like I lived amongst all this happening, unfolding before my eyes.

Their hopes, dreams and crackpot schemes all falling apart day by day. With an occasional reality moment !

Love it !

Race For Top 4 - Arsemania

March 1st

SA_Gunner - (Posts form table showing Arsenal top since Christmas) I know we missed out on Vlahovic who wouldnt have just helped us for top four but take us to third IMO, but these are promising numbers and gives some insight into the "January gamble". The key now is to continue this run of form through to the end of the season.

  • Champions league music at the emirates babyyyyy
  • Feels like we’re the most consistent and capable of the challengers, only issue is when we wobble in the big games it tends to have a hangover on us. But, if I were to be completely honest, it’s 3rd we should be aiming for and entirely achievable. If it does come back, we should be aiming for at least 3rd in our group next season. (SA_Gunner)
  • When Liverpool dropped out of Europe completely they challenged for the title. That's not realistic now but we shouldn't underestimate how much of an advantage it is only playing once a week.
  • We absolutely should be targeting 3rd now, imo.
  • It's in our own hands. If we do the business, it's in the bag. Decent position to be in.
  • We're in a good position. Our fate is in our own hands. If we don't get 4th it'll be our own fault irrespective of what Man Utd and Sp**s do.
  • I am still worried abt Sp**s..kane is showing some form and they have a better fixture list.
  • I think our ability to take advantage when our rivals slip up is a bit underrated.
  • Surely we can’t mess it up from here…
  • For me, we look more like a team than United and Sp**s. Things are looking rosy now, but I suspect there might be some twists and turns before the season is over.
  • The remaining away fixtures all very tricky today was the easiest of them maybe Newcastle the easiest from the remaining away games
  • We have enough for three losses with respect to United and West Ham, and two losses with respect to Sp**s. That said, those losses should not be "wasted" on Leicester home, Villa away, Palace away, Brighton home.
  • I still think we got some tough fixtures left, and our squad is rather thin. We're screwed if we get Partey injured and Xhaka suspended. Both are quite likely scenarios.
  • Chelsea will drop off a lot of points due to instability, I genuinely think we can finish third.
  • Whoever wins out of Sp**s-Man U on Sunday is likely to be our main rival for 4th. Personally hoping for a draw, or a Man U win. I'm more confident of beating Man U at the Emirates later than I am Sp**s away.
  • We will be 6 points clear of Sp**s, with a game in hand over them, at the end of this weekend's results...then we will beat United at The Carpet, to open up a gap over them.
  • We need 20 points from 13 games hopefully we can do it neither Sp**s or Manutd are getting 70 points. So 68 should be enough. (wrong)
  • We can beat United and we should beat Sp**s... We want top 4? We need to secure those matches, that's winner mentality. We don't need to make numbers, just win and beat them to show them who is the boss.
  • We're more then capable of bottling this.
  • Already started singing the CL theme every morning whilst I’m in the shower. Would have to shower in tears this summer, if that ends up happening.
The most offensive post of the lot.
