That drawing is hilarious. There's too much nicey nicey about it too.

Like you see it in one of those office meetings that encourages positive vibes or at an infant's school.

That isn't going to help young players build character, they need to be shocked a bit or have the belief put into them with a stronger message.
In all seriousness I think Arteta is quite creative in the way he is trying to delivery messages and motivate the team from what I've seen so far, he seems for example far more likeable and less weird than Jose was/did in our AON docco. That being said I completely agree that at times he's almost being too nice and whilst of course they respect him because he's worked under Pep and was a very good player, if results aren't going their way I think at times he will lose the squads respect a bit whereas compared to our Conte I think when the chips are down our players will never not respect Conte and will likely keep believing in him.

I dunno. I admit that I'm generally someone who wants my boss to be as direct, straightforward and on point as possible but I find his talks mind boggling and largely irrelevant to, you know, actually being a footballer.

It might well be that footballers respond well to nonsensical 'motivational' ted talks but they do come across as very bizarre, not actually very motivational and largely irrelevant. The amount of time he must dedicate himself to these things is also concerning.

Its a weird one because I think Arteta isn't actually doing a bad job but I have to say the clips I've watched so far have not painted him in a very good light.

To be fair he probably Nuno was going to play with no-one in midfield at all so he could say and do what he liked before that game and they were always going to win, the drawings are hilarious though.
Scary thought... imagine how bad that game could have been if they had an inspirational/charismatic coach! ?

I hope all our players watch it. It should inspire them to take the piss during both games this season. He’s more David Brent than anyone I’ve seen.

No interest whatsoever until the final episode which i'll watch IF they show scenes of the players etc after losing to us.
Same, only want to watch episode where we beat them and they then know CL qualification is fucked

Anyone know when that is planned to air?

Christ it’s like watching Tony hart, I have to admit but I’m in total awe of his drawing abilities. The brain and the heart is my personal favourite so far, looking forward to the paper mache episode followed by a drawing of a big shite when it all goes tits up at the end. Fantastic viewing

I did think there was something there that was missing from our one under Jose - the encouragement, instilling belief and confidence.
The motivational guy sitting down with Saka I liked and wondered if we have anyone at the club doing the same with our kids.
But, from the manager? I'm not sure it works. Not constantly. Taking a young player aside and putting arm round him to give a few words of encouragement- great.
To the entire team? In every team talk?
I also didn't like how Arteta took responsibility for everything.
No matter how bad things were, it's arteta not the players. He made mistakes, not the team.
To me, he just giving players somewhere to hide and excuses.
I'm skipping ahead, but if it continues like that to the end of the season I think we'll see it as the reason for their collapse.
Arteta comes across as a decent enough guy, and great with the kids - but a top class manager he is not.

It just comes across as him playing at the job. Like he’s watched a load of videos on how to be a football manager and he’s just acting that out.

Im finding the episodes pretty boring.

I think the guardian said he comes off as a bit like a cover teacher. I think that's a good assessment.

I also think he's trying hard to be 'inspirational' but in a very shallow and, frankly, disconnected way. Generally speaking I tend to believe that motivational team talks, while sometimes useful, largely have little impact on players and how teams do. Ones using a pad and paper surely also undermines the kind of intensity you would need to pull them off.

Mind, young people are different now days and those kind of weird things can actually work in those contexts.

His comments after we gave them a hiding at our place were pure comedy gold.

OK, so be honest, who's going to watch their game at Palace tonight? I won't lie, I'll be watching, but no prizes for guessing which team I'll be supporting!
