They had 6 players on loan (5 of whom were 1st choice players) last season that they had to replace before even thinking about upgrading their Championship squad.

And their first choice keeper, who wasn't on loan, wanted to go to France and had to be replaced.

They've made an enormous amount of signings but they've simply had to.

This is very true. It looks like they have made a lot of signings, but at least they are either premier League experienced or playing in a top league.

At least they are signing players to try and stay in the PL rather than a team like Norwich who sign Championship players and are happy to yo-yo between the leagues

It’s a gamble for them though, they could have just bought cheaply and been of the same standard as say Norwich expecting to go straight back down.

Shows a lot of ambition to spend the premier league windfall they’re getting. If they stay up they can establish themselves in a similar way to Wolves.

They’re a big club so if they play their cards right, they could become a mainstay in the premier league.

They've already signed 14 players and have strong credible links to Maupay and Aouar. 16 new players must be some sort of record surely
