There is a lot of denial here regarding our rivals - I think Chelsea, West Ham and Arsenal will be significantly stronger this year.

Annoyingly I hoped the change of owners and losing Rudiger on a free would mean there was potential for Chelsea being weaker - but if they add Fofana and Cucurella to Koulibaly (which is seeming likely), they have actually strengthened their defence.

I hoped Arsenal missing out on Top 4 would have scuppered their plans but they were decisive and have strengthened their squad with Zinchenko and Jesus in particular being top signings that fill significant weaknesses. Would have liked Jesus myself in hindsight.

Arsenal and west ham have strengthened, but personally out of the two I'd tip west ham to have a more improved season than last year.

Chelsea are absolutely insane. Cucharella has had one good season in the premier league and they are paying almost 60m, koulibally is a good player, but again massive money. Sterling is a weird one as well. Fofana has been injured for the whole of last season and is still a prospect, but 80m - madness.

Now fdj? Just seems like their massively overpaying without actually getting any better.

I suppose if they throw enough money at it, it'll work. But just seems there is no plan or thinking behind their signings.

the thing is this is what their supporters are used 2 and pretty much with the new owner especially being american he has to splash a lot of cash or else they will turn on him super quickly and label him a Glazer regen. He might do this for a year or two so the supporters stay on his side

Kostic >>> Juventus ?

Eintracht Frankfurt will play against Real Madrid in the UEFA Supercup on Wednesday without Filip Kostic - he is about to leave.

The winger will be absent because he is "in final talks with a new club". Kostic's move to Juventus Turin has been approaching for days.

"Filip behaved in an exemplary manner in the past season and played a large part in winning the UEFA Europa League," Eintracht sports director Markus Krösche was quoted as saying in a club statement on Tuesday. "We've always said that we wouldn't put any obstacles in his way if we made an offer that was good for all sides and that we were willing to talk."

And "we are currently in promising talks with another club and a solution is emerging. We have a broad squad and a very high level of trust in the boys, who all deserve their chance and are excited about the tasks ahead," said Krösche further. "Against this background we decided - also at the request of the possible new club - to play the game against Real Madrid without Filip."

Romano has definitely lost his good photoshop team. That's udogie, kostic and sesko that look like they've been done on MS paint

Well TBH they still think we did them a favour with kulu and Bents, not sure they really know their football.

No, we do know our football. The majority always rated those two players, but there's always going to be a few vocal idiots that don't. We see it all the time on this forum. Knee jerk reactions and people writing off players after 1 bad game. Fans are fickle wherever you go.

I just wish Juve were more patient with Kulu and gave him more of a run. Oh well, Juve's loss and Spurs' gain. Still suits me.

Why would you wish Juve had been more patient with Kulusevski??

Who did you support against Juventus in CL a couple of seasons ago, out of interest?

In 5 moths skrinier can sign a ore contract. Surely inter will sell him this month

Im taking this to mean that Skriniar is an avid collector of moths as an amateur hobby, therefore at the end of his contract , he will sign an iron ore mining contract as it allows him to work in an environment where he can simultaneously make money and continue to seek out rare breeds of moths down the mines

This would be annoying but I’ve also always wondered why no big club has ever moved for him

It was a shit game for me. I couldn't enjoy it. I wanted Spurs slightly more because it's rarer to see Spurs in the Champions League, but I also wanted Juve because I feel they have had so many nearly moments in the CL and are well overdue a win in that competition. For all of Chiellini's talk of Spurs bottling it, Juve have bottled the CL many times. I grew up in the UK so Spurs have always been closer to my heart, but it was weird because I watched it with my dad who was born and bred in Italy (he only started supporting Spurs when he came to the UK in 1978), so he was more leaning towards Juve. Despite that we ended up watching it like neutrals (with a slight bias) and were prepared to continue to support the winner.

It was also a bit painful to read comments on here though because people were going a bit OTT with the Juve bashing, but that's only fair as it's a Spurs forum. It'd have been the same if I were on a Juve forum.

I also had the same problem with the Euros final between England and Italy. Couldn't enjoy it at all and found the result to be bittersweet.

Boehly’s signings for Chelsea are very underwhelming. Cucurella for 60M, Chuwukmeka for 30M. Even Sterling. Chelsea are strong at wide forward, what they need is a top quality #9 and legs in the midfield now that Kante is passed it. It’s almost as if Boehly doesn’t know what he’s doing.

Utd are making similarly strange signings. Rabiot is a mediocre player. Not amazing defensively, or offensively. Arnautovic is really uninspiring. Eriksen of course is quality, but unlikely to get serious minutes.

This is a great chance for us to finish 3rd. And hope either/ both of Liverpool and City slip up.

Really wanted this guy, him and Perisic would have caused havoc for the opposition on the left, just glad he turned down West Ham

With Perisic, Sessegnon and Udogie we're pretty well set at LWB for years to come. Perisic mentoring the other 2 is about as good as it gets for me. Kostic or Sosa would have been nice for set pieces though but that's just being greedy.
