City aren't playing well either but gaining points at the same rate we are currently. The only difference is they have more control of the ball but they were 2 down and 3-1 down in their last 2 games, we've not really looked like conceding since the first half last weekend.

Honestly a real shame how so many can’t see his values just because of a few bad mistakes earlier in his time here. Really he’s still young for a defender.
Potential talk for Sanchez again? Good lord.
He's too poor on the ball, like basic things. Loves a one two with Lloris because he doesn't know what to do with it.
I can't believe people still talk about potential.
Those mistakes were early in his career were they? He makes them every season. Remember those part timers who embarrassed him?
Anyway we won. Yay. COYS

Time for Biss & Rich,
He even has precedence - should have been a red

it’s done now but for me I was always under the impression that deliberate hand ball in the box was a straight red?
Couldn’t get much more deliberate than that in my book

Totally disagree about Sanchez, I’m totally convinced with him at RCB. It’s the other positions I think he’s a bit dodgy.
Personally I think he'd be better in the CCB role and I think that's where he's seen as the back up option personally. There's less to think about in that role. Certainly no complaints of with how he played today though.

Stats. Sigh
Watching that game we could easily have conceded as we had little control of the game because again we were outnumbered in midfield. If we had who knows what the result would have been.
That possession stat is mainly because at the end Forest got ragged and more direct which played into our hands.
Don't agree. If Kane played for them he would have been crowded out in the box just like the rest of them. Yeah he might come up with a moment of magic but on the whole our tactics completely nulified them.

To be fair he is young, but so is Romero and he's twice the player Sanchez is.

But he's had a couple of very good performances this season and at the back end of last season too.

The only worry I ever have with Sanchez is when he's got the ball at his feet still, but that part of his game is improving game by game. He did well in some really tight situations today and last week.

Poor win & poor start despite it being the best start for decades. Should be 4/4 - we always win at Chelsea.

If Arsenal win their next game I think we should just focus on the FA Cup.

Son - poor

Everyone else - average

Kane - Laughing at the end with the goalkeeper that saved his penalty is unacceptable, he should be scoring and just a quick handshake at the end

Conte - Needs to sign someone else or its not a good window

Edit: Sorry sirs, I thought the sarcasm was obvious ?
Startling that people thought it was anything but ?

That chance sessegnon had to find kane. He really needs to get that right
He could have put it in first time, but after that, Harry sort of stood there. Now Harry will know much more about off the ball movement than me, but if he'd either made the near post run or dropped back a few steps, Sess would have been able to make either pass. As Harry just stayed in place, Sess had to try to get it through the defender, which was obviously unsuccessful.

Am I the only person who is happy with today. My only fart bum moment was when shortly after we missed the pen because NF team/crowd both got a burst of energy. They were a team of a few good players but didn’t play well together . Cook should have been sent off. Some teams will get best by them, glad it wasn’t us. COYS

TBH i thought Kane did nothing in his movement there, didn't show far post or near (until too late) just seemed to be running in line with the defender.
Yeah, you beat me to it. Exactly what I saw at the time.

Perisic was pretty average today, didn't have much impact and was a bit erratic at times but it only took like 10 minutes to notice how limited Sessegnon is
and how Perisic even in an off day is the way to go.
I thought peri looked decent, stunning cross for the pen too

Everyone: we won; three points. Maybe not the fluid spurs way we aspire to, but we are progressing…. We need to beat West Ham to show our strength & depth.

Last year we started with 9 out of 9 points, but everyone could see they were flukey wins and it was unsustainable.
Now we have 10 out of 12 points and while we haven't won by being commanding every game, we have been solid and the better team in all but one game against Chelsea at the bridge.
We've created plenty of chances, defended solidly and if not for Son's absolutely woeful form atm, we'd looked even better.

Sometimes I think we could play like peak Barca and people on here would complain.

Nah they wouldn't. It's just that that's the only way some think you should play football.

What's the point in watching football if you can't appreciate our defending? You're ignoring literally half of the sport.
