We were efficient if not outstanding. Nothing wrong with that this early in the season. They had 1 shot on target all game. 1. Lloris really had nothing to do at all.

Once Kane, Kulu and Son all click into gear properly we'll be a lot more ruthless

We’ve got 10 points from 4 games. We are not playing fluidly and in an entertaining style. However, we have not lost. We will peak at some stage. It’s a pleasant feeling that we are progressing. Sometimes it’ll be a case of grinding out results. We will come good. I’m confident we will get there.
And we are doing this with last years team with new signings seeing us over the line.

Only today we have 44.5% possession with 18 shots and 7 on target. And really should have scored a couple more if we were more clinical.
Only-clinical ....we won 2 nil the only stat that matters.

Sanchez was our star player. Felt sorry for Forest who played such lovely front foot football. A joy to watch them if they had Kane we would have been dead and buried. Nice to see teams coming into the league and trying to play the beautiful game. Once again we rode our luck but have three points more

I honestly wonder what game people are watching and what kind of football they expect from Spurs, exactly what chances would Kane have finished for them today? Maybe the header that went wide, can't think of anything else.

Am I the only person who is happy with today. My only fart bum moment was when shortly after we missed the pen because NF team/crowd both got a burst of energy. They were a team of a few good players but didn’t play well together . Cook should have been sent off. Some teams will get best by them, glad it wasn’t us. COYS
I'm happy too , better to get three points by playing football that some see as boring by sitting back and playing on the counter , I will take that anytime.

I can’t remember any clear cut chances we have given away in the last two games. We are looking really, really solid defensively

I though Harry looked a bit off today, his touch, final pass etc.. but still scored 2 and should have really had more.

Richarlison needs a start in for Son next game 100%, did more in those 20 than Son has in 2 games

Stats. Sigh
Watching that game we could easily have conceded as we had little control of the game because again we were outnumbered in midfield. If we had who knows what the result would have been.
That possession stat is mainly because at the end Forest got ragged and more direct which played into our hands.

We controlled the game without the ball. I know it's not fashionable in the modern game but it can be done to great effect if done properly.

Limited Forest to one good chance I can remember and their shot on target was a long range effort easily dealt with by Lloris.

Good game, might not have been a great watch but it was a good steely performance.

I really wanted us to sign Richarlison and that was a peach of a pass.

You have to laugh at the criticism of Richarlison toying with Forest. Neymar does that all the time and he’s ‘world class’. Richie does it and he’s been a ‘bellend’.
Where's the criticism coming from?

Never felt like they would score. I switched off the commentary and once you took that out of the viewing Forest didn't look a threat I felt it was mostly the commentary waxing on about forest than anyhting they actually did

I agree, although it's not the front three I'm worried about, even as they are now. I think it's more so the balance of the side. Today wasn't one of them but there are times where we struggle to even get any of the front three on the ball and involved enough.

I'm just unsure if this way of playing is sustainable and if the formation isn't to be tweaked, you have to hope that Romero back, Lenglet at LCB and Doherty/Spence at RWB can transform us enough. As you allude to though, I'm incredibly happy with how hard we seem to be to be able to create clear chances against though and even though it's harder to appreciate with the type of football on display currently, it's really a massive positive.

We have a system, it’s been working better than any other prem teams system since March. We’ve gained the most points since then, won 12 of 17.

Today’s matchup would have tripped us up more often than not in the past. The system worked again, though. Let them have useless possession, let them wear themselves out and keep hitting them on the counter attack.

The only negative today, is that Son and Kane aren’t on form at the moment. If they were, we’d have scored 4 or more. Then peoples opinions would have been very different. But we created enough chances to score 4+, that’s the most impressive thing going forward. Son and Kane WILL hit form. We also didn’t give them more than a few half chances for all their possession.

I don’t think some fans are able to appreciate how good we have become this year. It’s like they think good teams always play flowing football and win 6-0. Good teams just keep winning. We keep winning.

Christiano Ronaldo has been doing it for years.

I think there are some in the football fandom world who think the only way of controlling games is with possession. It isn't. All that matters is defending solidly (which we are and the evidence of clear cut chances conceded shows) and clinical on the counter (again look at the stats in 2022).

I remember days where we just passed it round the back doing nothing with it. Fans would moan. We score goals on the counter giving up more possession and they still moan.

No manager can win with some fans.

Yes we could be better when we have the ball, but that wasn't our worst performance whatsoever. We have 10 points from 12, only conceded 3 goals and scored 9 in 4.

I'd say we're doing alright all things considered. ??‍♂️

Also this annoys me:

A bit of ball juggling is now unsportsmanlike apparently. Football should be entertainment and I thought people wanted to see showboating and skills?
