I think he will do well for them (bit like Jesus) and they are certainly building a good squad but teams are always going to buy good players. Just hope we can get ones that better fit what WE need.

Yeah agreed.

Zaniolo is probably a better fit for us under Conte anyway.

Trossard is a good playing capable of occasional very good play. Just what arsenal need in their squad to bolster their title bid. Is he what we need at this time when we have Son, Richarlison, Gil and Perisic in our squad? We have other priorities and need to get the best out of our own players.

FFP must surely get involved at some stage wouldn't you think. I know they've skirted around some of it with 8 year contracts and stuff, but I don't really see why Shaktar would be OK with the payments for Mudryk being drawn out over such a long period. Something fishy there. They're also supposedly interested in Trossard and Porro FFS!
I don't think physical payments have anything to do with FFP and accounting. An 8 year contract means they can amortize the fee and the wages over the entire period, regardless of when money is paid.

It makes sense in terms of spreading their outgoings and also means they're in a strong position if anyone wishes to buy that player. They're highly unlikely to have a player do a 'Bosman' on them either. But on the flip side, they're lumbered with someone for a long time if they don't work out.

Good PL-player... but let's hope he destroys the rosy atmosphere they have created at Arsenal... Trossard and his agent right now are ?

Pointless buying more forwards when we need a keeper, and almost an entire new defence.

The madness continues.

Maybe the defenders and keeper we want are not available until the summer? Pointless signing players in those positions if we we'll be trying to flog them in a years time because they are not good enough.

We need another forward too.
Only After we address the more important positions...

Trossard would warm the bench,
We need players who would walk into the team now.
Rwb..
Centre half. And a
Creative midfielder

Why would we waste money on another forward, we ain't exactly chucking money around to be buying more bench warmers.

I'm not sure we really wanted him. Levy saw an opportunity for a bargain given his situation at Brighton.

Arsenal are welcome to him. If Trossard can kick up a stink to force a move, I'm hoping he'll unsettle the group of players up the road.

I wonder what they will offer him. Supposedly, Chelsea doubled the Arsenal salary for Mudrych, which the Swiss Ramble blog estimated to be £100kpw.

I don't necessarily think that's right, because that means they offered him half of what Eddie Nketia gets?

I would have liked him but I think the fact we are going for Zaniolo and not Trossard is called, as some say, backing Conte (urgh I hate that phrase). I think Trossard personally would be something different particularly where we need to unlock a defense and something creatively different.

My only regret is (I know he's Belgian) but I could have seen him fitting in the role here similar to Conte had Hazard at Chelsea. I love Son and really want him to turn around his form, but I thought Trossard offered something a little different to Sonny. Sonny is at his best in space, on the counters - where Trossard seems more of a tighty player between the lines. I do think we can look for a younger, better option but to me he was a fit in the system

No idea how good/suitable he is for us but imo this has got Levy’s grubby little mitts all over it.

Agent trying to move his player on, 6 months left on his contract…..ooh perfect.

I’d bet a couple of Enic shares that he was not high on any list Paratici was working on last summer.

Have you read anything in this thread?

One of those where if the price was right he would have been a good squad addition but not a player we were ever desperate for. We are absolutely desperate for wing backs and Defenders - Porro is the absolute must this window, if he ends up elsewhere then I’m going to be faaacked off as we are in desperate need of him.

Going for Zaniolo...don't do it to yourself.
