Said it earlier but as a Moura replacement and initial option off the bench then I can see the reasoning behind bringing him in. He can certainly beat a man and that's exactly what we are missing. If he recaptures his form from last season, he may even get a regular starting spot so its low risk, high reward.

I'm all for him coming in IF Conte is happy to have him in the squad and IF it doesn't affect the Porro and Zaniolo deals. From a brief conversation this afternoon, it seems that we are still pushing ahead with those deals so let's cross our fingers because a Jan window of Danjuma, Porro and Zaniolo is very solid.

Would be a shame that we again fail to strengthen at the back which is our biggest problem, but the Summer may throw up some better opportunities for us with contract situations etc....
I do have a feeling that we aren’t really wild on any of the current CD options available on our budget so you could be right that we are just going to pass on that. I still would be surprised tho if we got Zaniolo. I just don’t see it. But here’s hoping.

With the rumour of the loan with option, could it be a case of like for like accounting for Villareal. The get rid of Danjuma and replace with Lo Cels9, zero loss or gain for either side

Exactly it could easily be Gil on loan to Sporting. Moura released, with Zaniolo and Danjuma in.

But as usual the fucking weirdos on here are just waiting to be outraged ?

I agree, I'm waiting to find out more before reaching for the pitchfork.

Given the Spence shit show, and our failure to really push on last summer, I can see why many aren't willing to give Levy the unearned benefit of the doubt.

If we loan out Gill and Conte won't play Danjuma on the right, then it's a stupid signing.

If Zaniolo wanted us but we baulked at a £25m loan + obligation, so Levy did this instead, it's a questionable signing.

If Zaniolo was always prioritising Italy, we keep Gill, upgrade Lucas, and Conte wanted this guy, then it's a smart signing.

We'll find out soon enough.

Getting him instead of Deulofeu is a bit disappointing, we could use someone who can pass the ball in the final third but at least we get some pace in the team. Both seem to be somewhat injury prone.

I hope this isn't a Levy-style budget option / "opportunity" who won't improve the first team and who we'll struggle to move on in the coming years.

If Conte wants him then great, and of course I'll support anyone we sign.

Would rather we threw everything we have at wing back and center back tho tbh.

Edit: oh it's just a six month loan? Didn't realise.

Meh. This smells like squad filling. I hate that.

You need to build a squad by buying players better than the current 1st team.
Ideally but we don't spend that much and with a limited budget should spend more on defenders. Our attack is strong really just not enough depth. For a 6 month loan we can't go far wrong with this one.

I’m gonna say it quietly, but on his current form, Son is no better than Danjuma. Son could find his best level again, and we’d all be stupid to rule that out, but if he continues like he has done this season, Danjuma is the better player.

I see your volume on the comment, brother, and acknowledge and appreciate it. Whisper pals.

Not really sure why people are rating this as funny. As good as Son can be he's never been amazing technically. Danjuma has great feet, an amazing burst of speed and genuine 1v1 ability. Kulusevski and Gil are very skilful and can beat their man but not with the same ease and regularity as Danjuma.
Thanks mate, either they rated the bit about ‘hope the manager will be ok with it’ funny or they all have zero clue about this player or both ?

Better than Kulesevski on the right is virtually impossible for us.
Better than Son on the left at the minute? he's got every chance of being that guy.

January seems notoriously difficult for CB's as much harder to replace, both buying and from within, attackers seem to be surplus and in demand.

There must have been unexpected progress on Moura or Gil going out for us to make a last minute approach to someone already on their way to Everton.

If not then why on earth would we only go in for him now rather than before Everton?
