I voted for Franks and Other (Kompany) as he has been doing an outstanding job and as long as Pep doesn't leave in the summer he will likely be available unless he doesn't want to step up to Tottenham. We all know Frank is a good manager and have seen his work.

Importantly though I feel our next choice of Manager can only be decided once Levy/QSI decide what the deal is. I firmly believe any investment may see us looking for a potentially bigger name. No investment throws us back down to Poch style choices.

I wish Poch would go and get a job somewhere else, win some stuff, and come back to us in a few years far more experienced and ready to win.

For a hot prospect manager he's spent a lot of time out of work since leaving Spurs.

Why not, AVB and Conte both did reasonably well for us. Moutinho is still good, imagine him in his prime when AVB wanted him instead of Baldini's players. It's more about building around whoever is next manager and giving them what they need to succeed. Pep could struggle more than Dyche with our lack of technical players that he needs for his system, and his success would depend on moving the deadwood.
It was just a response to seeing Tuchel’s name on the list, sorry.

I would like Conte to stay and build something here....

but... my choice for next manager....... Diego Simeone

ok, hear me out...

I am getting really tired of playing "pretty" football. Simeone team is usually a "dirty" side, they tackle hard, and they use any means to win a game. we will be hated for our style of play, but who really cares?

I think this physical approach will work well in the English game. Atletico has been pretty constant in the few seasons under him.

he also favors a back 4, usually a variation on the 4-4-2 (4-2-2-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-2-2-1-1) which is something we should be able to go back to quite comfortably.

We cannot compete financially with the other teams around us, but we can change the way we play to make us more difficult to beat.
I care. I didn´t sign up for Sunderland. It would feel like wasting +40 years of supporting the wrong club. Those of us that have been following Spurs pre Enic would also hate us for that kind of style of play. Like we have - during the worst parts of the Mou, Nuno and Conte years.

I absolutely loved being the only kid in my class supporting Tottenham back in the 80s (everyone else followed Liverpool and MU) - because Spurs were different. We could lose to anyone and beat everyone - and often did. ? But we won cups, and we had some strong league runs too. The 86/87-team must surely have been one of the best pre-PL teams not to win anything?

To me, Tottenham Hotspur FC should always be playing "The Beautiful Game". Or, as a bare minimum, at least have a few players being able to do the amazing and unexpected. To me, we´re the club of Hoddle, Ardilles, Waddle, Gazza, Ginola, Modric, Bale ... and to some extent Klinsman and Berba. The latter years Dele, Eriksen and Lamela. Kane, Son and Kulu are of the same ilk. Moments of glorious magic that make everyone laugh and cheer and instantly want to relive and see the same over and over again.

I totally understand your wish to have a dirty, cynical side playing machine football enabling the (financial) underdog to compete with more "glorified" opponents (like Atleti´s Barca and RM). But we all know that Levy would make a total mess of Simeone´s list of player´s needed to be able to play his kind of football. And, don´t forget: Simeone´s Atletcio Madrid have had some quite spectacular attacking players! And quite a few expensive ones too - would Levy ever break the world record for transfer fees to get the next Joao Felix?

There is nothing in the way of having "magical" players playing alongside dirty/cynical/hard ones. Most great teams in the history of football have had both! You need the "enforcers" to balance the more talented and gifted ones. Fergie´s MU had Roy Keane (and plenty of others - Paul Scholes was both in one), Liverpool of the 80s had plenty of them, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Milan too. And Spurs of the early 60s were (as far as I have understood) certainly no choir boys.

I wouldn´t mind a couple of more Romeros - and we should bring in Lamela when he retires to do some extra training in shit-housery. But at the same time we should also develop and/or bring in some more players to bring the magic back. Because that´s what we are - and should be.

Prediction time:
- Conte to Italy (or PSG)
- Nagelsmann sacked by Bayern and joins Spurs
- Tuchel joins Bayern
- Poch joins Atletico Madrid
- Simeone takes some time out

Forgot about Nagelsmann tbf

If he's available come the end of the season I can see him being our first choice if Conte does leave.

Levy was desperate for him before he joined Bayern.

it will be someone who can transition from a back 3 to potentially a back 4 at times.

Of course depends if we bring in a new sporting director if Paratici leaves.

I think it will be Amorim or Nagelsmann.

If Paratici somehow stays, i think it will be Inzaghi or De Zerbi

Simeone will go Inter if Inzaghi doesnt win anything this year. Simeone says its his dream.

Is there any word on Nagelsmann being let go by Bayern? I always felt he was the perfect fit for us, other than Ten Hag.

Not really. Think Bayern have wanted Tuchel for years and years so if Bayern only scrape the league or go out in UCL early, they may see it as perfect timing.

I'd be surprised if he was let go.

If it must continue to be under this ENIC regime then it has to be a coach that will work with youth and improve players. I would also like to see us play that high press, quick tempo football again as opposed to a defensive team that plays on the counter all the time.

I would personally want Amorim was impressed with his Sporting team.
He’d be near the top for me, I hope conte stays but if he were to go for me we need to continue with the wingbacks, having 2 of the most promising wingbacks in the world (udogie/Porro) and not utilising them properly would be a massive shame.
Would be Tottenham like though.

TBF I can see any one of Nagelsmann, Tuchel or Poch being appointed if Conte departs. I think Levy has been clever and left his options open transfer wise - both Porro and Danjuma are loans (Porro option to buy) so we've not really spent any money in January which means a new manager in the summer is not stuck with two fresh players he doesn't fancy.

If Conte leaves I think Amorim is probably the best fit for us, in terms of continuity of system, track record, style and I think he might give more youth players a chance.

Is he that good a coach then, I wouldn't say he's exactly pulling up trees in Portugal this season.

There's probably better coaches out there but I think he might be the best fit for ENIC ownership and likely wouldn't rip things up and shift us back to a back 4. We have to get a coach in who will blood the youngsters, it's the only way we will get success whilst keeping transfer spend under a certain level.

I expect Levy massively regrets not moving for Ten Hag, he would have fitted us like a glove.
