I don’t get how the Saudis can own them and Newcastle though.Utd with Qatari/Saudi backing will become an unstoppable juggernaut.
Bad news for us. Bad news for football.

Lucky you. Watched the film, thinking it's got Judy Dench in it, she never does rubbish.I’ve not seen “Cats.”
Because it will be different people behind both, and they will somehow prove that no single person would have ultimate control over bothI don’t get how the Saudis can own them and Newcastle though.
Honestly the whole thread backs up what I said imo.
Regardless of whether it's QSI, QIA or a 'private fund', any takeover of Utd by a Qatari based fund will end any interest from QSI investing in Spurs.
It should never have been allowed in the first place but you can blame the footballing authorities and poor governance for that.Regardless, it is getting to the stage where state ownership of football clubs shouldn't be allowed.
Unless the exciting things is him leavingDaniel Levy teases exciting things to come at Spurs that aren't in public domain
Daniel Levy has been discussing life as Tottenham chairman and building Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a Premier League feature entitled: 'Daniel Levy: Building a Home'www.football.london
Doesn’t sound like he’s thinking of leaving any time soon….
Agree, if they are happy to buy them for 6 bil then I fully expect them to sign Mbappe come summer.Utd with Qatari/Saudi backing will become an unstoppable juggernaut.

I have no clue as to the finer points but I feel this would likely be the case. At least that’s what all the info thus far seems toHonestly the whole thread backs up what I said imo.

I really don't see Utd being any different to City or Chelsea, maybe Newcastle in time. The size and stature of club is pretty irrelevant nowadays. Chelsea are still signing 100m players and sitting mid table. City soon started to attract the best players after the takeover. Chelsea did when Roman arrived. It's just going to be the same situation with Utd. Players aren't going to care which of those clubs they join as long as they get big wages they know they're going to compete. Utd haven't won as much in recent years as City or Chelsea anyway. Players aren't going to favour them because historically they have more titles or because they have a large fan base.
Trouble is City and Chelsea are massive now. They've been on top some time winning titles. I also think as long as Pep is at City players are more likely to join him at City than Haag at Utd.Not so sure about that, not all players are money motivated. There are players who would go to Real Madrid for half the wage of another club just to say they played for Madrid. Having a huge fanbase and history adds glamour to a career.
I know if I was a player Real, Barca, United or Liverpool would bring me far more pride in retirement than minnow Man fucking City. United have been poorly run for ages but they only need to be half decent again for the elite players to want to go there.

Whatever. Though it pains me to say it, they're here to stay, like or not.City ain’t massive, they have a great team and vast cash from their owners but their fanbase isn’t even our size despite the forced attempts. Other than Pep there is nothing glamours about City and it doesn’t look like he will be there much longer. I can understand going City when United is in the dumps but with Ten Hag and big money coming I would be heading only one direction.
Their fan base is in the range of double ours now based on all social media stats. We are a long way behind the other 5.City ain’t massive, they have a great team and vast cash from their owners but their fanbase isn’t even our size despite the forced attempts. I think that in the next decade that's pretty much all were going to have and I don't see how it's stopped.Regardless, it is getting to the stage where state ownership of football clubs shouldn't be allowed.
Until Herc says its dead I will keep the hope we are getting some sort of investment to help us compete. ?
I think Mr Tophotspur has been saying its dead a few times in the thread.who said it’s dead. The entity taking to United/Liverpool is different from the one talking to us and the only talking to us apparently wants a minority stake as they own PSG. Ben Jacobs has been clear about this.
