United wanted to sell, so of course when they find an interested buyer it will happen quicker than us talking about investment.

Not to mention the fact that their easily the biggest name in football alongside Real Madrid. Ask any non football fan to name a football club they’ll liable to say one or the other.

So of course they’ll find a buyer quickly.

I'd be stunned if ENIC were ever looking to sell a majority stake.
Really it comes down to old Joe. Im surprised he hasn’t already tried to considering his age, I guess soon it will be his daughters decision. Im sure Levy has zero interest tho.

True - his daughter might have a different perspective.

Think it’s just what he's surmising from the info about various people talking to Man Utd and L'pool, nothing more. Normal jump before pushed Spurs Community behavior ;)

It’s my opinion based on having knowledge of how the Middle East works having worked in the region for a number of years.

As I said, the only way QSI would still invest in us if another Qatar based entity took over Utd, would be if Qatar have an active strategy to takeover multiple PL clubs, which I doubt. In the result this was their strategy, the entire PL would be completely dead too as multiple teams would have the same ultimate owners.

The more likely event is Qatar will choose 1 PL entity to invest in and the structure of that investment (full takeover or minority investment) would dictate which party gets involved (QSI, QIA, private funds etc)

It wouldn't surprise me if Levy looks to raise money to buy out Lewis's ENIC shares giving him the majority stake in ENIC and subsequently THFC.

I didn't think of that. Could be one reason for him engaging with QSI and other parties.

If someone buys out Lewis - they would be the majority owner…
Can’t see Levy doing it. If he bought out Lewis & became the majority owner he’d be the one getting the blame for our lack of success, getting abuse for not investing, there would probably be a thread on how to oust him

He’s doubled down on his ‘criticism’ of foreign investment today. Why even have the meetings if he feels like this to the point where he’s released a statement saying a few clubs have the ability to distort the market. Doesn’t sound like a chairman who will either sell or accept a large investment specifically for transfers.

I’d be amazed if we get taken over in the next decade at least.

If, as is being reported, there are 5 suitors for Man Utd, and only one of them get it, might the other 4 who missed out look at us?

Found that segment of the Financial statement interesting too. Publicly calling the state owned and consortium clubs out as well as acknowledging the way football has changed in the last decade. Doesn’t sound like a person that has been in negotiations for a sale. Also interesting that Pep has name checked him as well.

Could be just Levy doing what he thinks is right by protecting the club (or framing the financial results) but wondering if Levy has been working with other clubs behind the scenes. Suspect there’s 16/17 other clubs that don’t like the way Chelsea, Man City and Newcastle are run and it’s impact on the league (and businesses)

Could be nothing and just seeing something that isn’t there but considering the rumours surrounding the club with regards to a sale, and those comments, interesting timing to say the least.
