I think it’ll be Poch, he wants to come and is available.

Nirmally I’d say never go back but something has to change.
I really want Poch at this point, but judging by the ITK noises currently, it sounds like the club are just too divided on going back to go there.

I don’t want Tuchel as much prefer Poch or De Zerbi etc but I was thinking:
1. He’s a spurs fan
2. He outcoached Conte big time 3-4x in a row
3. His teams do actually press and his Dortmund team played really nice football
4. He’s much more likeable than Conte/Jose etc

As I said I don’t think he’s a good fit for us and there are tons of better options but my Q is so the majority on here think Tuchel is a better coach than Conte & Jose and do you think he would’ve done a better job than they did for us? I do and I think he’d actually do an ok job but again I don’t think he’s the right fit for us and we need a different profile of coach and a longer term project.

No disrespect to any ITK but I take it all with a massive pinch of salt.

Either way, the most likely outcome is whatever combination of cost effective, quick and convenient is best and that points to Poch.

In an ideal world we'd run more like Southampton used to and Brighton now seem to - a long term strategy that a "type" of coach can just fit into but that doesn't appear to be any closer to happening.

It's all quite depressing but it's probably even more depressing to stick with where we are at this point - all a bit of a mess.

It's gotten to the stage where my only hope is that Levy will do his UEFA coaching badges. He'll back himself in the market.

I think it’ll be Poch. It ticks too many boxes for Levy. And the biggest box it doesn’t tick - the one marked Paratici and his fondness for wing-backs and counter-attacking football - may answer itself if the Juve appeals fail.

The big question for me is when. I think he’ll be guided principally by what helps or hinders our top 4 chances; the financial stakes are too big to dictate otherwise. But if we drop points to Forest and/or S’ton, and slip out of top 4 in next 10 days, he may see the international break as the best window to sever ties and start anew.

Always thought Tuchel comes across pretty well and tactically completely done a number on us in the game at their place and not sure how we came away with a draw. Saying that, a Chelsea fan I know seems to think he had his fair share of strange tactical decisions which he felt cost them in certain games to during his time there.

I just don't see us going for him tbh. Gut feeling is they'll go for someone more up and coming and in the De Zerbi/Gallardo/Amorim mould, someone they can probably dictate to more and someone who'll toe the party line for at least a few years who they can get working with a DoF. Either that or Poch imo.

Guessing one of their concerns with Poch is I'd imagine he'll want quite a bit of control over transfers and maybe the club are not convinced he has the greatest eye for a player. Believe he pushed for Sanchez, Lo Celso, Ndombele who have struggled and we are lumbered with them.

Also if he isn't backed and things were to go pear shaped, he seems to be quite popular with a lot of pundits out there and can imagine the question will be asked what was the point in bringing him back if he isn't going to be backed. and he is still players there from his stint. Will be questions over whether the likes of Kane and Son can do the pressing job they did in his first stint and he may not even have Kane next season.

I truly wonder the members of the squad actually think at this point ?

Today was the first time where I felt they were no longer buying into how Conte is setting us up to play. Once that happens, it's curtains and hence why Conte's time with us is coming to and end. Even if he sees out the remaining games, they'll know he won't be here next year.

You can add Sissoko and Aurier to that list also. who we effectively had to give away to get off the payroll. In Conte & Jose' defense, they were tasked with getting something out of these lads or move them on for a fee similar to what we paid in order to have the funds to re-invest. Whoever the next manager is will likely be saddled with the same burden.

I’d be all for de zerbi as Brighton play some great football and he’d be more of the “project” manager that we want, if we’re going to change direction. But then I remember that he manages a club with a coherent plan, not a circus like us, and I think he’d be mad to make the move. Whoever comes in will be hamstrung by the lack of planning, lack of strategy, and the complete interference from people who have no clue what they’re doing, in a football sense.

How much more on the ropes does levy need to be?
on a serious note this would increase the chances of a caretaker again as who is going to leave mid season?

I think de zerbi is a good manager but then he will give sanchez winks lo celso ndombele dier yet another chance but we all know they will continue to flop/be shit

So that basically means either Conte or Mason for the rest of this season. Then a succession of 7-10 day periods in the summer until we reappoint Nuno.

Quite possibly. The problem is much bigger than the manager, but the manager we’ve got is a big problem. No idea how we solve this
