Big Ange might be the one you know.

He's just got the aura of a Tottenham manager (a good one) - can't really explain it haha
The best Spurs managers I’ve seen have been the perfect mix of big bruiser and cuddly bear. Jol, Poch, Redknapp if you’ve had a few.

Sounds like a Paratici type manager…. More shit football, and managers who won’t even last 2 seasons.

Only thing I can see here is Paratici trying to keep himself in a job, and he won’t be able to work with an attack minded manager.
If you think Tuchel is a defensive manager then it would indicate you haven’t seen much of his football.

I don't think so, Big Ange seems to get quite a lot of respect in the game and from pundits, so seems to have something about him.
Steve G was a great player but like Fat Frank, doesn't have the personality (or dare I say intelligence) to be a top manager these days.

I think many people fell for the hype over Gerrard, which was mainly built by the staff he had around him. I'd not heard much about anything groundbreaking or special about his coaching methods, in fact, I don't remember hearing much at all about his methods.
I have heard good things said about Postecoglu though and whether he'd work or not for us, he does actually seem to be a good coach.

I don't follow any coach particularly closely but at the moment, I'd probably rather take a punt on Postecoglu than Enrique, who I'm not at all convinced about.
Ange seems to have the personality that the fans could get behind too, a bit like BMJ.
Thanks for that background. I know nothing about the man and went solely on him being this chase's guy from the Scottish league.

Anyone watch Sporting Arsenal today?

How did Amorim go up against Arteta?
Classic Sporting…… very good free flowing football. Probably a little more open than usual actually but very entertaining to watch. As I said elsewhere, I watch a lot of the Portuguese league and really like Amorim

Oh mate, I'm no expert and don't know a lot about him either, just that I have heard some positive things about him and I like his personality.
I don't recall that ever being the case with Stevie G.

It's always hard to judge anyone based in the Scottish League, especially when they are at Celtic or Rangers but I'd reckon Ange is as safe a bet as any.

I have to say: Don't take any of my posts in this thread too seriously, which includes candidate credential queries. I'm just here for the vibes generated by the hunt. Who the next manager will be is pretty much pointless.

As you were.

Caught the last 15 minutes or so and wasn't paying too much attention.
Seemed like an entertaining game though, swinging one way, then the other.

I'm exactly the same and the only reason I'm leaning towards backing Postecoglu is for shits and giggles!

I'm just here for the continuing shit show that is Tottenham Hotspur Sports and Entertainment Group.

William Still as someone said is listed on the odds, surely too early for him but his record is rather impressive and doing some due diligence on him, he studied in England which is interesting.

Anorim is another one I didn't mention earlier - Sporting are fun to watch, and him playing 3 at the back could work with some of our current/next year's player crop.

Get someone who plays a 4231/433 and you need one LCB and one creative midfielder and you’ve already got the shape of a strong squad there. We’ve barely seen what players like Bissouma can offer us, Udogie should come in and be an upgrade on the left (not that that’s saying much).
For next season to play in a 4231:

1. New GK
2. New LCB
3. New starting LB
4. New Attacking Mid
5. Upgrade on Hojbjerg with more technical ability
6. Replacement for Kane
7. Replacement for Son (one of these is Richarlison
8. Pay for Kulusevski
9. Pay for Porro

It’s a lot to accomplish while bringing in a new manager/tactics.

Thought he set up his side well. He does seem to get a lot out of his players, and despite being outmatched from a talent perspective, they were dangerous and as the score line suggested, they matched Arsenal well. I think he’s an impressive young coach.

Enrique is true. But fekin eck. The lazy creative journalists having a field day. Not going to keep knocking back names.

I’m massively sceptical that a Poch return would work out but if Conte was sacked he’s the only manager available that would unify the fan base and give us a boost until the end of the season.

If Conte sees out the season I would be inclined to go for a manager that can coach the current players/system rather than another big transition. Someone like Amorim or Gallardo.
I wouldn't worry about unifying the fan base, pretty much any new manager would do that.

Remember, 95% of the fan base were against hiring Nuno, then 1 interview where he said he would make us proud and 70% of our fans were teary eyed thinking he would be the next Poch, talking about how he played attacking football once with Valencia.

Not worth the effort mate, farting against the wind. Holler at us when we reach page 3000 or so. Names should steady by then. Don't work hard, work smart.

Weirdly I think there is just too much to do if Poch or Enrique arrive.

Once returning from loans, there will be 14 players Poch used in his previous tenure who ultimately got him the sack. Pretty obvious we wont be getting rid of most of them.

The current squad do not suit Enrique style at all so would mean a massive overhaul, again something that wont happen.

"Managing director of football Fabio Paratici has been heavily involved in the process of pinpointing options"

"Tottenham have engaged in due diligence on sporting directors so they are potentially priming for more than a managerial change"

What happens if the new sporting director doesn't like/get on with the manager the old sporting director helped select?
Don't worry they don't have any inside info on this, it's obviously all just guess work like 99% of all the articles about Conte and his potential replacement are right now.
