We’ve had a few weeks of hearing posters who want a project manager who plays attacking football and that we’re willing to be patient for that.

We are now getting posts calling potter a failure for not playing winning football despite having a squad of 30+ players and only having been at the club for a few months.

Those two opinions are not compatible.

Very fair point but I thought Scott Minto and Danny Kelly reviewed it well just now. He should have been strong enough to focus on a squad of 15-20 and not tried to keep all happy. He made far too many changes weekly and different formations.

Some of the tactics were criminal. Playing 2 inverted full backs alongside one centre back yesterday was ridiculous.

I agree he had big obstacles in front of him but to have Chelsea in the bottom half, closer to relegation than top 4 is unacceptable.

To add to Potter, I like the guy but said before - At Swansea, Cooper had less resouces and did better. De Zerbi has come in and Brighton are better.

He isnt good enough for Spurs.

I am getting so slot
I’m gonna take my shirt off”

The chance to triple his salary may have some say.

He wins the league again and perhaps does treble, hes getting better clubs around Europe and that means better money.

Same with Slot. Would be ridiculous to leave them now for Spurs.

This JN to Chelsea crying shit is embarrassing! Get a flipping grip on yourselves!
We don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes and I get that the club are a bit of a joke at the moment but that doesn’t mean the fans have to act like petulant children.
So what if JN goes to Chelsea, it’s his choice.
I’m no Levy fan and I think he should move into the revenue generating department and stay clear if anything football.
I’ve banterd with so many of you on here and enjoyed it but this is getting really embarrassing now!

Yes, I dare say we could get rid of several on that basis , but probably still have to pay half their salaries for the remainder of their contracts with us
I was being facetious mate. The handling of Doherty contract termination sounded Sunday league.

When Bryan the bricky wants to sign for the Nags but the Saracens head still owns his registration. Neither side want to play the league admin fee’s.

So nagelsmann to Chelsea which is brave considering how many players they’ll need to sell to be FFP compliant next season.
I can understand why they’d shift loftus -cheek, Gallagher and Hudson odoi, even mount because they contribute hugely to the balance sheet but if they sell kovacic or James it will create huge holes in their team.

There’s no guarantee that chelsea have the capacity to spend big in the summer

All that said. Guess they’ll sign Rice and Bellingham whilst we are haggling over a payment structure for Eric choupo-moting, or appealing Ivan Toneys long awaited ban for betting charges that we ‘weren’t aware of’

Is it still safe in here, or has the Potter xG debate from manager search 2021 resurfaced?

You’re preaching about rationalising things to a forum of doom-mongers & naysayers. These people feed off of hyperbole and vitriol.

Encouraging logic is like pushing water up hill in this thread.

Embrace the chaos.

Leicester really need a coach who can get them scoring goals in the short term. Ladies and gentlemen can I introduce you to Mr Graham Potter.

Every day it's like the world is ending on here. Must have missed Nagelsmann signing for Chelsea, Potter/Rodgers signing for us today whilst watching WrestleMania..

Oh they didn't?!

Stop getting worried over things that haven't happened. Good grief.

Wonder if the timing of the two sackings were linked in any way?

Once again our luck is lacking.
From a post not too far from here...

Luck doesn't come into it.

Being prepared, and sticking our neck out to take the leap, are the issues that have and will undermine the club and every manager until there's structural change at the very top

How many times, they know what they’re doing. Simon ****face Jordan explained they need to sell 3 homegrown players at the most to bring in the £140m they need to sort it. Mount, Gallagher and Loftus Cheek alone would raise that. Chuck in Chelaboh and more and it’s solved easily.

We were never getting Naglesman, Chelsea job available or not.
Disagree with this and similar takes. Nagelsmann clearly has some interest in the job. There were only really two potential main obstacles - Chelsea and Real Madrid. One of them has fallen in the way. That’s football.

I would be happy with Potter, IMO he just needed time which he wasn't going to get at the chavs. I remember Brighton fans wanting him gone saying they we worse under him than with Houghton.

This has always been his schtick. His line-ups at Brighton were often bizarre too but he did get them playing some great stuff when it clicked.

Personally I think he's a good manager but was doomed from the start at Chelsea given the situation. Huge money, big egos, massive expectation, no pre-season, no big reputation as a player/history of trophies to fall back on...

Maybe he would've turned it around if they gave him another season or two like Arsenal did with Arteta, but unlike at Arsenal, Potter to Chelsea felt like a mis-match from the very start. Bit like Nuno at Spurs.
