5 years? I might be wrong but I thought he was involved solely with the academy up until his first stint as interim manager in 2021(?). In fact, I’m not sure he was even on Nuno’s first team coaching staff. I make it 2 years at most. One for the future quite possibly (we should all hope so), but he’s still a long way down a very steep learning curve.

Having said all that, it’s not his fault he’s had this thrust upon him again, and I fully agree it’s to his credit he hasn’t shied away from it. The problems at the club go way beyond what’s happening in front of Mason on the pitch.
Ah, yea, “first team” was probably rogue.

Levy better have a fucking rabbit to pull out from somewhere.

Absolutely baffling he’s happy to watch Poch go there and not appoint Nagelsmann.

Blows my mind.
There are no rabbits left. The last proper rabbit was VDV. Mourinho and Conte couldn’t be considered rabbits as we all knew how it would turn out. And we all know it will turn out again no matter what decision is made. The only close to a rabbit we will get it is if we wake to levy and Enic f’ing off. And that’s not a rabbit. More like a Christmas present. There’s nothing left

And what exactly are they fitting the candidate to if the DOF isn’t in on the interview, or even in place at all?

Look we’re delegating football decisions to the DOF just as the fans want!

But this manager definitely doesn’t fit the DOF we haven’t appointed yet, and we deny that we have interviewed JN anyway, nor do we plan to.

Might as well have Liz Truss running the process.
Nailed it👏🏾

Please not Rodgers
Could honestly see it after a 2021-esque charade. 85 days deep, after getting rejected by goodness knows how many managers.

Then on the 86th day an announcement and an interview where Rodger’s promises he will not only “make us proud” but will also have our team play with “character”

Masons not to blame for today, but I genuinely can’t understand how people think a 31 year old, who has literally zero experience being a full time manager of a team could potentially be the man to fix this absolute shit show.

Firstly we have absolutely no knowledge of whether or not his football ideas/philosophy’s could be successful or not as we have zero evidence to base that on.

Anyone with eyes and two brain cells could tell that Dier needed to be dropped, yet Mason was hailed as brilliant by some for dropping his ‘mate’.

I don’t want to be slating the man because I’ve a great respect for him, but it would be absolute madness to give him the job.
Hopefully he leaves the club in the summer so that he can actually start managing somewhere and hopefully he ends up actually being a good manager and then years down the line maybe he might become an option for us.

But I’ve seen people suggest he drops down to the championship to manage, but there is zero chance a championship team takes a chance on him and rightly so. League 1 even isn’t guaranteed making League 2 a possibility. Yet I’m supposed to believe that he’s the right man to lead a top 6 prem club out of the doldrums?
If Mason had the same playing and coaching career at Villa for example, imagine the outcry if he was the guy we went for. That's how much value people are putting on him being 'one of us'. It's utterly preposterous. Gotta learn his trade elsewhere first. We're one of the biggest clubs in the country not a Football Manager game where you can just not save if things go tits up.

Those slating Slot, did you feel the same about Ten Haag? He's doing fine at Man Utd, why can't Slot do well for us? 🤔
Man United owners are distracted by trying to sell the club. Our owners are distracted by trying to run the club like FM.

Ten Hag said he needed a new CB - got the one he wanted.
Ten Hag said he needed a new winger - got the one he wanted.
Ten Hag said he needed an experienced CM - got two that he wanted.

Levy - "You should be able to win with the players we have - look at how much money I spent on them!"

Again, that's not about Slots ability is it?

Ten Hag had 326 games managed at that level.

Slot has 156.

I don't think Slot is the best manager available for the job. He may be the best manager that we can get. But if we had different ownership, who were trying to win - we would be aiming much higher than Slot.

Ten Hag had managed for longer than Slot and had experience at a larger club in both Ajax and Bayern. His Ajax team also played incredible and innovative football.

Now the flip side is I think you can argue Slot has managed to play very good football with lesser players than Ten Hag had and is on course to win the league. You could probably also argue that Spurs, right now, are more like Feyenoord than they are Ajax in being a bit of a hodge podge of talent and trying to punch above their weight but tactically I don’t think Slot is as smart Ten Hag.
so

So yeah both bald Dutch blokes but I think there’s as many differences as there are similarities.

ETH wanted key signings and he got those key signings. Martinez, Casemiro and Eriksen. Slot both won’t get this nor will he get the funds to rebuild our derisory squad. Utd needed tweaking, we need a total demolition and a complete change of direction.

To be fair, the year we reached CL final - that Ajax team were as good as any side in Europe. Absolutely tore us apart for 90 mins at THS. You could tell he was a top coach.
