The School stuff is crap I think, he said it himself *If my next job is in Holland I have failed* His next job is not x amount of years as his stock is at its highest NOW, he is looking to move now. If it goes wrong next year in Holland his stock will fall and he may well miss his chance. We maybe a mess right now but we have pretty much everything for the right Manager to get it right.
Private schools in England are seen as some of the best in the world and there are loads of European ones in London. It’s a good draw for attracting people there.

You only have to think this over from Slot’s perspective. Last year he took Feyenoord from 5th place (under Advocaat) to 3rd place, which seems about the norm for them, behind Ajax and PSV. That was success enough that his squad got stripped and he lost a number of regular starters and had to rebuild. He must fear that having won the title his players will be even more ripe for the picking.
This is another good thing about Slot. He transformed a defensive team into an attacking one.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy has just been sacked as PSV manager despite winning 2 out of 3 domestic trophies this year in Holland. Most likely nothing, but strange timing seeing as the Slot/Feyenoord meeting is apparently happening at the moment.

Seems strange they’d sack him if it wa a for him to go to Feyenoord. Surely they’d hold off and try for compensation, right?

Funnily enough VDV sent his kids to a public school in Enfield. A friend was the Business Manager there and Rafa/wife actually brought them in every so often. They were meant to be a very nice family.

Its just a coincedence plus he walked by the sounds of it:

From PSV website

Head coach Ruud van Nistelrooij announced on Wednesday morning that he would leave PSV. After several discussions about internal affairs that have taken place in recent weeks, a meeting was held on Tuesday evening between the Board of Directors and Van Nistelrooij. It was decided to keep the focus on next Sunday's match against AZ and to continue talking after the season.
Van Nistelrooij reported this morning that in his opinion there was not enough support within the club to continue longer. He immediately explained this to the players and staff. This Sunday, at the request of the management, Fred Rutten will temporarily take over his role as Head Coach.
PSV regrets Van Nistelrooij's decision and is grateful to him for winning the Johan Cruijff Scale and the TOTO KNVB Cup this season and hopes to close the football year with second place.

I mean yes, but it´s still something to consider. Don´t have kids of my own but assume that their wellbeing is key to any parent, and if they are settled in school, it´s always hard to remove them.

Add to this the humiliation - being in a new school and having to tell the classmates that their dad is managing Spurs

Rotterdam is around a 50-minute flight. It's only 3 hrs on the Eurostar. Could he not could get back there every evening in the time it takes many commuters to get across London? Or in the time it took Redknapp to drive home to Dorset?

He’s been stung by some players and their agents going to the board and walked. Didn’t get sacked

Well, today is the day the agents supposedly go in for final talks with Feyenoord as has been widely reported.

Hoping for “Slot to Spurs imminent” later this evening, expecting “Slot delighted to extend contract at Feyenoord” though…

I’m scared he’ll sign a new contract at Feyenoord now, using us for leverage.

“Hmm, I’ve got the chance to move to a huge club, in the top 10 richest in world football, who are offering me a huge amount of money to play in the biggest league in the world - I know, I’ll use that offer to slightly increase my existing low wage at my current club which is about to be stripped of its best players, and see if I can win one of the most limited leagues in Europe again!”

I mean it’s possible, but…

It's still odd they've parted ways with one game to go and still needing a result in that game to get CL.. Whatever wet on you'd think both parties would be able to tough it out for 4 more days.

They'll probably say their Mum's a stripper & their Dad works for the Conservative Party to avoid the shame

Really good article on Slot here with lots of tactical insight, builld up shape, how they defend transitions etc.

Not a surprise, but nice to see he's more interested in high turnovers rather than building from deep (cos we suck at it)
