I, unsurprisingly, think that the board will be in no hurry to employ another DOF/manager as they can't earn their pay whilst there's no football. I'm sure they don't understand that a DOF/manager are the life blood of the club. If we don't have one of either how do we know what direction the team should take and therefore who we should buy to help achieve that scenario.
I'm just so down with the way Levy runs this club football wise.
WTF can't he just set a budget AND LET THE FOOTBALL PEOPLE WORK WITH IT?
He's still got control over the financing but lets people who know do their job.

Like all rich assholes, Levy thinks just because he’s good at finance, he’s good at other things. Just look at Musk, obviously had a genius for investing and marketing tech companies, but has now waded into politics and culture and looks like a dumb-ass cretin. They’re al the same, convinced of their genius.

Is this what being narcistic means?

One could say the same of critics who know less than 1% of what these rich assholes do every day but are convinced they could do/know better. They may be arrogant but at least they have some tangible evidence supporting their arrogance. Dave at the pub - not so much.

Sorry if this seems aimed at you, it's more that your post hits upon something that has been annoying me in the real world lately.

That’s a fair point, although currently I would pick Dave from the pub over Levy all day long.

Was this definitely what he meant? It read to me like a rhetorical question. Like what if he (Slot) wanted to sell our top players but Levy didn't agree. I'm not sure if he was saying this is what happened but I could be wrong. I'm not sure if we would have even got that far in discussion with Slot to be honest. Especially without having a dof in place. Surely the dof would need to be involved in the discussion about player recruitment. They would have to be the ones to determine if we should cash in and rebuild or at least agree to it as theyre the ones who need to get the replacements. Nothing about the Slot deal falling through suggests we didnt agree to back his ideas. It comes across we werent willing to pay the compensation for him.
I think the broader point from wlb post was misalignment of strategy was behind not getting slot rather than him not wanting or us not paying the compo. My point was that a dof plays thst function of setting the football strategy snd bridging the gap between owner and coach. So it seems wrong to be having those discussions with a coach without the dof in place first. Unless they see munn as playing this role in our new structure

The silence on this is deafening. Got to assume we are getting turned down by our targets like in the manager hunt.

At some point I suspect they’ll give up looking for one and just appoint a manager.

Wasn't it Herc yesterday who said as much that we are being rejected not only by multiple managers but also multiple directors.
It's actually gotten to a stage where it's just funny. If you actually sat down and thought about how bad it's all going it would be utterly depressing so I've moved past that stage now thank fuck

I think we put all the eggs in the recruiting the two men from Feyenoord basket and that failed so we’ve gone back to the drawing board. My only hope is that we revisit the Nagelsmann situation but I suspect that’s as dead as a dodo. I’ve long suspected nothing will be decided on anything till June and it’s looking that way now.

No one wants to work for the poisoned dwarf.

He needs step aside from the football side, Lewis needs to bring in Paul Barber and let him run out club.

Until this happens, nothing is going to change and it is only going to get worse.

That's a very good decision.

At what point, when managers and directors across Europe are rejecting the opportunity to work in the worlds highest profile league, at a club with amazing facilities, in London no less, so not some deserted outpost, does Levy start to look at why the people are turning us down? Taking into account most would be getting significant pay bumps to come here.
As Chairman, he is overseeing a consistent downward spiral, becoming a truly toxic environment, and he cannot see that as a success surely.

Really smart people know what they know, and also know what they dont know.

You dont need to be a genius to see that Levy would be better off sticking to what he is actually good at.
