Injury record is a concern and there are probably similar players with more upside.

But he's good and the type of player we really need. Ideally would like him and another younger creator.

Will need to shift a lot of our squad for that to be feasible though.

Got a feeling those injuries might clear up when he moves club. I do worry he might be a bit petulant.

Lee Kang-In is the one.
With his rumoured release clause aswell I’d much prefer him to Maddison.

But he’s done nothing to prove himself unlike Maddison who is probably ready for the step up. I’m not a massive proponent of signing him but he’d be worth it if……

Only worry is his attitude. Leicester fans moaned about him a lot this season

Does he work hard enough? I’ve not really watched him enough to know if he goes missing in the big moments or not or just is an MOTD player. He disappeared in the second half against us in the home game for example, once they started to get battered. First half he was great that game though.

In other words he will go to Newcastle

Yeah might as well move onto other targets. If both us and Newcastle had finished top 4 I reckon he would come to us but with no European football there is little incentive for him to choose us above them.

I like Maddison but for that price we really should be looking elsewhere. Plenty of good options and slightly younger aswell.
Alex Scott @ Bristol city is the one, Im
Bristolian born and bred and lived like 10 mins from Ashton gate up until about a year ago, seen him a few times and he’s the real deal, few mates & family members still go, and can’t believe he’s still there & think he can have the same impact Bellingham has had if he goes to a bigger team.

I'd be really happy with Maddison as long as we have secured top quality GK and CB options. If forking out for Maddison compromises that business in any way I'd look elsewhere.

That’s the thing, we could get Scott, Kang In and Solomon for the forward/midfield issues. This would leave the main part of the budget for defensive signings.

Given Ange's preferred style and the way we have played past four years I personally wouldn't.

Maddison would sort us out style of play wise almost immediately.

This Alex Scott, Kang-in wish, is this just the player version of the Gallardo talk? I haven't seen us linked with either yet so many people are referring to us getting those two over Maddison.

I guess this is where I hope the Maddison wanting to live in London rumours are true.

Newcastle is basically a third world country though so I’m hoping the lure of the most impoverished part of London will be a big draw for him.

Have seen us linked with Scott to be fair but yeah I think it's a Gallardo type wish

I was thinking about how it's a typical message board type view but I have this wish for us to go down the young hungry up and comer route this window and not established star. So yeah the two you mentioned get my vote for that I'll informed opinion of mine.

Yeah if they're in for him it's surely all but done.

Higher wages and CL football vs ...London?

Annoying how quickly Newcastle have overtaken us in the pecking order.
Newcastle can now offer higher wages? Even with cl, that isn't feasible, unless they set up more dodgy sponsorship deals.

I guess it's down to priorities. If we had the budget to get our preferred GK, CB and Maddison that would be great but I think it's unlikely. The way Ange plays, I'd say it's far more important to address our defensive deficiencies where we're a complete mess right now and need a major overhaul.

They got one on the sleeve already and I saw a picture with a new main sponsor too so I reckon they have.

No way they're going to play nice let's be honest.

Given our definitive frailties (worst defence we've had in the league since 1993 and that was a 42 game season), I'd be inclined to agree but we have no real ball playing midfielders unless those on loan come back and are totally transformed. The possession based football combined with a high press in Ange's teams contribute to a less leaky defence.
