Kane wanting to go to Bayern doesn't make sense for me. I think it's much more likely he stays, keeps chipping away at the record and then has his pick of premier league clubs next year.
Maybe he can’t bear playing for another PL team against Spurs so the Bayern move appeals

I do think it makes sense for Bayern though. As a free agent Kane would get offers from all the top clubs and it would be stiff competition for his signature. Bayern probably know they are a step below City or Real Madrid when push comes to show.

But I don’t understand it from Kane’s POV. If he waits 6 months he can have his pick of club.

Because I'm sure Bayern are pulling out all the stops in their pitches. I bet they're (and Kane himself) are thinking that if he can get 30 PL goals in a side that finished 8th then the opportunities are endless for him in their side.

He'll likely get a cup and the league trophy (which doesn't mean much TBH) but they'd certainly be in the top 3-4 favorites to win UCL. The only team you could argue with a sure better chance is City.

That then would put him in contention for ballon d'or, which if he somehow won, probably (or could) trump the individual goal scoring record. Which, let's face it, he could get Bayern a good sum in order to come back to England in 2 years time in order to polish off that record.

I agree with all the points but I just think if I'm him I'm saying I have two cracks at the UCL and ballon d'or vs 1 rebuilding year at Spurs where it'd be an achievement to get back in the champions league and a domestic cup.

Also makes some money for us, which he might possibly prefer with his bond to the club. I mean, loads of players do it rather than run their contract down - Rice, just this summer, for one...

He's irreplaceable and unlike a moneyball situation you can't replace him in the aggregate. He is an absolute world class player who I rate as the best in the world ahead of Salah, benzema etc. To lose him will hurt but we have had 8 years of him at this level and I never thought I would see such a talent play for us.

Best of luck to him if / when he does go. Its a massive shame we seem unlikely to be able to give him enough reasons to stay and it's also a shame he couldn't get us over the line with a trophy.

Think he'll be wasted in Germany if he moves there, probably quite some distance in what money we want and the money Bayern are willing to bid.

Still reckon he'll stay this summer.

Brighton, Villa, Newcastle, West Ham, etc don't have any sort of world class payer that's anywhere near him and yet they've done better than us recently.

If we can use the money to build a team, I don't think he needs replacing.

I presume Levy will I insist that we get the first option if he comes back to the UK. How workable that would be I don't know but it may prevent a rapid return.

We're going to get to the stage soon where we try and kid ourselves that we can replace Kane or function without him.

It's a horrible idea.

Who, in world football, can replicate HKs goal involvements as consistently? AND....there is even a sniff of a chance we can sign? If the answer is no one, then why want rid of him now?
Probably because people feel it's the best chance at ensuring we won't see him playing against Spurs for another Premier League club?

I don't want him to go down in history as one of the greatest ever footballers to never win anything.

Man City are the only English club guaranteed to win anything next season and they don't need him so Bayern or PSG seem the obvious choices if Levy decides to cash in this summer.

We'll not be able to replace him though if he goes.

The point that gets missed is Kane joining anyone immediately strengthens that club. So the City are the only club blah is off. Sure they are in pole position but adding 30 goal a season Kane narrows that margin. Significantly.

I think we've now spent 80 mil on Porro, because when I was complaining about not backing Conte in January, enough folk were telling me we'd just spent 40 mil on porro. Now it appears we've just had to buy him again out of another windows budget.

If the Porro deal is now coming out of the Summer budget it means we spent nothing once again in January. You can't have it both ways.
Levy is doing this. He literally talked about “committed” spend when touting our January business, to take the heat off. After this window I bet he talks about actual spend and counts Porro again.

I’ve been prepared for this since we got knocked out of the FA cup a few years back vs Everton at Goodison to be honest: just shows the loyalty he has shown us. Wouldn’t blame him if he does leave this window. Also doesn’t leave on a free and on a good note breaking Greaves’ record.

I’m in the same boat as Rob, if he goes we need a plan and at the moment it seems as though Ange has one, if Harry doesn’t want to go through another rebuild, when he wins his trophies (hopefully not with a Prem team) he can come back with a statue awaiting him on his return.

My only challenge to you is how much better have they done? Last season... yeah sure. But otherwise... I don't think any of 'em have done better than us. Maybe played more 'attractively' but not done better? So hard to put too much on it after one season that was objectively awful from us.

I could list all the teams "below us" who've won FA Cups, League Cups, etc over the past 10 years as well but I focused on last season.

I know BM supposedly really want him but I just struggle to see them getting to £100 mil even with add ons. Must say it would be very disappointing to have got Maddison only for Kane to walk out the door but that being said next summer I think the chances of him going to a club in the PL would be very likely. Ether way I really hope we put a deadline on this because we can't have this hanging over preseason.

From the gazillion Ange tactical videos I've watched Sonny seems the best fit to play upfront. He won't stop making runs and has the energy to do what Ange asks.

Losing Kane is inevitable.

Losing Kane on a Free is a bad idea.

Losing Kane on a Free to a competitor is a horrible idea.
exactly this "the he cant be replaced" line is small time thinking. We will do a better job of replacing him with an extra 100m to do it with than with 0. it's painful but everyone leaves eventually either retired or transferred I am thankful for all the times I have seen him play in our shirt but selling him abroad and giving us a chance to at least try and use the funds well is preferable to him joining a prem rival for free next year. I thought Bale would never be replaced and we were doomed then Harry, Eriksen, Dele for a while and Son all went on to achieve more with us. With our facilities now there will be new top talents join the club and we will kick on again at some point.
