Who knows what they’ll decide but Lewis has always had an appetite for big risks.

(This is not ITK. It’s all in the public record)

hmm, maybe in his career as an operator in the money markets, but as far as Spurs are concerned we’ve operated on a risk averse approach for as long as I can remember.

Th club has gone up in value from, what, 80m to 5bn.
The Kane issue doesn’t even touch the sides for Lewis financially so just can’t see him giving a toss either way.
If you were the Lewis family would you trust Levy to make such a big decision on his own?

Joe Lewis’ bail conditions require him to stay in the USA and he owns a very large development in Florida (where is granddaughter (she’s the medical director of a hospital Lewis’ owns) if not the rest of his family live).

So it’s highly likely that Levy has gone out to see Joe Lewis and family.

They have a big decision to take. Do they take the money from Bayern or keep Kane and gamble on reaching the Champions League. It’s a €100m+ decision so Lewis will want to be involved.

Yes this sounds likely.

Levy also playing a little hard ball by not rushing into accepting what's on the table.

Kane's position is fairly obvious imo.

He'd like to go if the Clubs can agree a fee and he can leave under good terms.

If not he's happy to stay to see out his contract.

Where it gets more complex is the likelihood of Kane renewing. Now he's indicated he'd consider that but that was worded cleverly enough as it didn't give any precise details in what would have to happen in order to do so.

But you'd have to assume that it would mean starting the season very strongly, and sustaining it.

But we don't know.

So Levy and Lewis have to weigh up what's on the table, irrespective of Kane's potential for renewal.

If they decide to refuse, and Bayern don't come back with a higher offer, then they need to give the manager what he needs for the best possible chance of achieving fourth to mitigate against the loss of a fee if he walks for free.

All the while we're lining up our ducks for different scenarios.

Its all quite messy really and we need a conclusion on this quickly.

I can't get to every game live but watch every one I can on TV. When I do go to the stadium and see Harry Kane play in three dimensions it reminds me just what an incredible footballer he is. His vision, his control, his ability to be in the right place at the right time at the perfect angle is a kind of art form.

I understand why he would leave and respect that but I can't help but feel that this isn't the time. The stars just seem to be aligning with this manager and set of players with a couple more astute additions.

Lets not get ahead of ourself.
If its Kane decision, conference call meeting will do . Dont need to do transatlantic flight wasting time.

If he has indeed gone to visit Lewis & co...May be there are things on agenda on the stadium development or potential stake sale
or
Levy is not even going to meet Lewis and he is there for other reasons...

Alot has been said about whether Kane could even work in Ange's system, despite only being a friendly against a weakened Shakhtar team, think it's safe to say Kane will have no issues scoring 30 goals this season, it wouldn't be a problem.

I wonder whether todays game will play a part in the decision? Had he been anonymous for most of the game and not scored, probably would have made such decision slightly easier?

Scoring 4 however and seeing Kane, Maddison, Kulu linking up well might make the decision more difficult.

Everyone that said Kane wouldn't fit the system will be very quickly proved wrong, Kane's THAT good he can fit any system, he'd easily rival Haaland next season for the golden boot IMO. Think he could get 35 goals.

Indeed. Most likely how many more times the club can can get Beyonce to make an appearance.

This is all fucking hilarious. Has been all weekend. Nobody except Levy knows what’s going on and that’s been evident for a while.

Plus Levy has just gone on his usual August holiday to Florida. He won’t be meeting Lewis as Lewis has nothing to do with the club any more (that’s been covered a thousand fucking times in recent weeks btw).

Probably finalising the NFL franchise as he’s promised H a staring role as the teams kicker when he retires from football

Not that I particularly care, but if Levy were to pull this deal after Bayern met his asking price then you can add them to the list of clubs that will never deal with us again 😂

He’s buying Harry a golf course near Disney as part of his new contract.
Joe owns Isleworth Golf & Country Club in FL - where Tiger Woods used to live (maybe still owns a home there). I'm sure he can hook Kane up with a fine vacation home on a luxury course.

i'm wondering what Uli Hoeness will have to say about our dear Daniel if the deal was this close and doesn't go thru.
I can’t stand Uni Hoeneß since the time when Bayern invoked Jürgen Klinsmann’s release clause to prise him away from us in 1995.
He was quite arrogant and mocked us as a little club.

There were a few times today when I thought Kane was getting into bad habits of dropping deep to get the ball, or trying to play out side the box - but look at the results of Kane playing the way Ange wants - up top:

Buckets of goals available to him when he trusts the players to get him the ball in front of the goal.
