Good line up. Looking forward to the game. Interesting omissions from the bench which i guess could be read as the players that perhaps may be on the sell list.

I'm pretty worried about their aerlial threat today and think he's the best counter to that. VDV I'm not sure of in that area and wouldn't start with the other debutants, Sanchez is very shy in the air, and Davies isn't great either and doesn't have experience as CB in a back four. The only other shout for me might have been Tanganga.
That's a fair call but it's pace to recover that Ange prioritises and Dier can't do that any more sadly

When was the last time we started a game without Hojbjerg? With Kane, Lloris gone, and Dier, PEH dropped, where's the leadership in this side? A new GK, a new defense, a new midfield, and a new attacking trio. In a tough away game. Hopefully there's enough space behind the sofa.

To dare is to do!

You expected any different? The deal was only confirmed yesterday and it's our first game post Kane. It was always going to happen.

I didn’t, but it’s tiresome spending time on a player who isn’t even here now. It’s fine, comment, like they have and move on and talk about the game (like they now, have…. I hope… maybe… till we hit the post in the first half and they decide to talk about if Harry would have scored it at half time) 😄

goal goal goals!

Utterly fascinated to see how this pans out - honestly haven't been as excited since Redknapp era.

(edit: Harry not Jamie)
Same mate. Most rounded exciting team since Peak poch and Redknapp sides.

Modern ball playing goalie
Full backs can play and defend and have pace to burn
Fast ball playing CB’s
Lovely mix of 3 midfielders in terms of passing, tackling, energy and creativity
Kulu and Son to cause damage in this system and then we have Solomon and Perisic off the bench to run at tired legs
Richy Brazil’s n.o9 up top.

Id say we are now 3 signings away from the squad being incredibly strong.

CB
CM
WF/ST

Also Bentancur still to come back.

We’ll have some ups and downs but it’s 100x more exciting than under the previous 3 dinosaurs both the style of play and the creative attacking mix of players we now have 😊

Sorry but Tanganga would be last in my list of options to play CB. He was poor in preseason.

Should be keeping Reggie not Davies.

Like the lineup, Skipp obviously getting the nod after his two goals in the last match which is fair enough.

Best option we have available currently. Especially for this game, being a tough away game, where his defensive quality should be preferred to Sarr’s better ability on the ball/attacking quality
The other point is that Ange's high-energy game plan will mean that it's extremely likely that the starting midfielders will be getting leggy in the final third of the match, just as they did on Tuesday. Sarr, Lo Celso will probably end up getting significant game time.

Like that line up a lot
Obviously it’s game one so anything could happen but it’s the first time since peak poch days that before a match I look at our team and the way we will approach the game and have that kind of arrogance confident feeling that if we play well not only could we win we could absolutely dominate and suffocate and batter the opposition.

Exciting looking side with some decent options from the bench.

Surprised to see vdv straight in, be interesting to see how he does.
