We had info from WLB that Ange sees kulu as being able to play that false 9/firmino role and in the event of that might we go big for a RW.
Food for thought..

If you read up thread and find @Now it's Spursonal post on it, it kind of makes sense due to his close control and movement in the box.Wow that is insane
That's a good post.Just looking at data without context is meaningless.
Why are we looking at his goals scored & assists and making direct assessment as if , he played in his pro career in teams that dominate.
Johnson teams been Lincoln City , Forest & Wales. Club in PL ot his country don’t play great football . He feeds of scraps.
Championship season Forest did play reasonably good football for the level & he scored 16 goals as 19 yr old.
For me he comes across as a good forward who can cross well as well as finish well .
When it mattered the most he turned up for Forest. Forest would not have got promoted without him nor would they have survived in PL last season. Time & again he drove them forward riding tackles
I think if he plays in a possession heavy attacking side he will produce lot more & not less.
This is becaus he is technically very good and a good ball striker. His passes received stat should go up automatically, which should then accentuate his numbers in final third

We've been scouting him for over 2 years. There must be more to it. 8 goals in a turgid forest side wasn't bad last season. That's a good post.
People who follow stats and data are all bemused by this link but there is clearly more beyond the surface as it isn't just us looking at him
I prefer Gil to Brennan tbh…If we can somehow throw Sanchez/Gil/Spence into the deal then it's a no-brainer IMO.
Gil can't play up front thoughI prefer Gil to Brennan tbh…

In generally I’m not particularly sure which position we would be signing him for. I’m assuming RW as he’s played there 41 times as opposed to 24 at CF. Thing is tho I feel like if you wanted a CF we could comfortably get better and if we wanted a RW we could comfortably get better. Not saying I disagree but what skillset do you think he lacks?
Ange has always said he likes having a mix of different style of attacking options so his teams aren't predictable.
He has more raw pace and power than say a Solomon or Kulu something we really lack so if we are interested I can certainly see why tbh in terms of some of his skillset, also because he can cover both ST and RW, another bonus.
If he is or will become good enough is another Q but I think his skillset is an ok fit given that Ange doesn't actually really have just one favoured 'skillset' in his attacking players.
If it was say we were going to sign him and Orban I'd be ok with that as we'd then have a lot of young high potential players across our front line, if just Johnson then that's not enough firepower added.
Think he could do well as an out and out winger in this system. In a similar way to how Perisic has been operating.Gil is yet to prove he can cut it in the PL.
I don't think he ever will tbh.

I’m not keen on him, but the reasoning kind of made sense. Just got to hope there’s some kind of method to the madness.
Is it? Was linked with us and scouted before Forest came up. Paritici scouted him and Spence, think likely we’d have gone for him if they hadn’t got promoted. So is a player we’ve tracked and seemingly liked for a long time. Also helps us with home grown presumablyThere are far better CFs and RWFs out there, that typically would be more suited to an Ange team too. It really is an odd link imo.
Out of interest what RWf’s are more suited to an Postecoglu team either going by names or attributes?. Because from what I’ve seen he’s had different types of wide forwards/wingers in his teams. I would actually say Johnson Is more something that he would like to compliment what we have at the moment. full backs cutting in, a wide player being able to go on the outside, stretching the pitch and getting in behind. I would say wingers that like to drift inside would be a weird link as that’s basically what all our forwards/wingers do at the momentThere are far better CFs and RWFs out there, that typically would be more suited to an Ange team too. It really is an odd link imo.
He got benched for much of the run in as he wasn’t cutting it and so I disagree with him being pivotal in their survival.Just looking at data without context is meaningless.
