It funny - before the Gordon goal, I was wondering why Newcastle were not simply targeting TAA every time down the pitch. Little did I know Liverpool were happy to get a player sent off.

(I still think Newcastle should be targeting TAA - he easily has another yellow in him.)

His best case was VAR sending the ref over to make it a yellow but he's probably earned a yellow for dissent four times over waiting for that to happen.

It will be interesting if no further action is taken because it makes a complete mockery of the no dissent push if kids can watch VVD and other Liverpool players abuse the ref and get away with it.

meanwhile Maddison's had two yellows for throwing his hands up in annoyance

Not for that kind of red. That is a one game suspension on its own. But, I won't be surprised if they tack on another for VVD conduct afterwards.
