I know, I know. We’ve had years of torment and we have PTSD every time we lose or something goes wrong but we’ve got to snap out of this horrible irritating cycle of being doom and gloom merchants at every little bump in the road.
This thread isn’t to discuss last nights team selection, or exiting another cup. It’s about our responsibility as fans to at least try breaking this cycle to make supporting us a bit more bearable.
Maddison got a knock and all of a sudden we can’t have nice things, Gio is shit and not good enough as backup, our squad is shit, we’re gonna finish mid table again.
Udogie gets a knock and same thing, we’re cursed, Reggie couldn’t even lace Atouba’s boots and he’s our backup with Davies, why do the football gods hate us?!
Then last night, suddenly after a really positive start we have one bad result and Ange is Tim Sherwood in disguise.
We’ve got to cut this shit out, we’re such an exhausting fan base at times and I know it’s because we’ve been hurt by years of underachieving, with managers playing horrible football against our philosophies but now we’ve got one who’s trying to repair us.
We’ve got to start looking at the positives and move forward, these rollercoaster highs and lows from one day to another are so tiresome. I’m not saying just be happy clappers for the sake of it but the massively extreme lows at every single little hurdle and “hot takes” are so unhealthy.
Let’s just get behind Ange and whatever players are here by the end of the week and see where it takes us. The support felt so refreshing against United and we need to keep that going off the pitch if we’re going to get past this and put the ghosts of Nuno, Jose and Conte behind us!
