Tbh not too dissapointed if this falls through. Would rather strengthen HG in other areas of the pitch.

Gallagher is OK but think there is probably better players at better value in other markets.

As reported by Mail Sport earlier today, Ange Postecoglou's side made a £40million offer for the midfielder and the Blues held out for £45m.

£5 million difference doesnt sound insurmountable. If the clubs want it done it will happen. More likely Hojbjerg not happening will stop this deal.

Bet in January this will pick up right where it left off: Atletico trying to get PEH for a lowball fee, and us trying to get Gallagher for an OK fee lol

I wonder if Chelsea will regret this in a few months? 40m is a pretty good offer IMO

Shame as it sounds like if PEH left, this was a goer. I'd be surprised if we signed him if Hojbjerg stays.

What I would say is after no or little game time in January, both PEH and Connor fees should come down a bit.

We’ll see, Poch seems to think he’s their starting 8 so I don’t know about little game time…

So you think Chelsea would be willing to sell their starting no. 8 to a club they hate? He'll get a few minutes here and there and play in the Carabao Cup. They've signed 16 midfielders.

I think they’d prefer Poch play the shiny new signings, but I also don’t get the sense he’s really been consulted on the matter.

With PEH looking more likely to stay, I would say this kills our chances of pushing for CG

Hojbjerg and Gallagher doubts grow...

Doubts are beginning to grow about Tottenham’s interest in Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, writes Nizaar Kinsella.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s potential move to Fulham or Atletico Madrid is looking less and less likely too, as the player has been unable to agree terms with either club.

Of course, all three players were in a transfer chain with Joao Palhinha who saw a £60million transfer to Bayern Munich collapse despite him flying to Germany to complete a medical.

Gallagher isn’t pushing for a move but Chelsea could be tempted to cash in at the right price.

Only thing with that... Ange's #1 target.

And we've not pushed it over the li.e for him.... allegedly £5m apart...but we have the ££

Blatantly don't have the money without hojbjerg going.
You know that's not right. Anyways, interesting to see if we use the solution WLB mentioned now as Hojbjerg doesn't seem to be leaving, whatever solution that might be.
